Here at SSBR we try to have fun with what we do. We cover a sport that is supposed to be fun and we want to convey that in our content.

One of the ways SSBR does it is by doing a version of a ranking system. SSBR take all the teams regardless of classification and do our best to rank them on how they are doing relative to their class.

*In the Spring we have the caveat that says we are not ranking them on a “head to head” basis. In the Fall since teams may play each other regardless of class more regularly, “head to head” is more of a factor.

We also do our rankings based on results more than what we think who would necessarily win a game. If a spot comes down to two teams, if they’ve played head to head the result of that game weighs heavily in that decision. (The first week’s rankings, however, do have what a team’s expectations for the season factored in, but as the season goes along it will be the results that matter.)

In the Spring we do a “Sweet Sixteen. In the Fall we do an “Top Ten,” because there aren’t as many teams as the Spring. (We are expanding from 8 to 10 this Fall season.)

Let’s take a look at the 3rd SSBR Fall Top Ten for the 2026 season.

1. Silo Rebels (2A), 15-0

Last week: 1

The Silo Rebels are a wagon. They keep rolling on winning in multiple ways. They blow other teams out, win games without any scares, and win games with their pitching depth.

This past week after a win vs Cameron at Eastern OK State, they went to Missouri for 3 games. There they beat one of Missouri’s best in Licking High School breaking a 0-0 tie in the 6th with 3 runs before blowing out 2 more solid teams to sweep their stay in Missouri.

This week: Tues vs Soper; Thurs-Fri at Asher Festival of Champions

2. Tushka Tigers (2A), 10-2

Last week: 6

While most teams lost a game last week, Tushka went a perfect 3-0. On Tuesday, the Tigers won at 2A State Tournament contender, Latta in an SSBR Game of the Week. On Thursday and Friday, they beat Varnum and Class A State Tournament contender, Wister a combined 19-3.

In 2A, while Silo looks like the class of the group, Tushka and Dale look just a notch behind the Rebels but ahead of everyone else.

This week: Mon at Calera; Tues at Asher; Thurs-Fri at Tushka Festival (Howe; Byng)

3. Ft Cobb-Broxton (B); 12-2

Last week: 2

The Mustangs drop a spot this week even though they went 4-1 last week. After beating Okarche and Fletcher on Monday and Tuesday, FCB was upset in the opening round of the Roff Tournament by Vanoss, 5-4. They rebounded to win the consolation title of the tournament beating 2A’s Byng and Calera. For the week, FCB scored a total of 59 runs in their 5 games.

They get the nod at #3 over Dale based on their 2 wins vs the Pirates.

This week: Mon-Tues at Calumet Festival (Drummond; #6 Dover); Thurs-Sat at Hydro-Eakly Labor Day Tournament

4. Dale Pirates (2A); 6-2

Last week: 7

Dale only played 2 games last week, but they made them count. After beating OCA on Tuesday, the Pirates had one of the most impressive wins of the season run ruling Rattan on Friday in an SSBR Game of the Week.

Dale has played one of the toughest schedules so far this season with their 2 losses both to Ft Cobb-Broxton

This week: Mon-Tues at Calumet Festival (#6 Dover; Calumet); Thurs-Fri at Asher Festival of Champions

5. Rattan Rams (A); 11-3

Last week: 3

As stated above, Rattan dropped their game at Dale on Friday, but they did win their first 2 games of the week at Smithville on Monday and at then #4 Tupelo on Tuesday. The Rams were impressive at Tupelo scoring 10 runs over innings 4, 5, and 6 on their way to a run rule.

This week: Mon at Wister; Tues vs Howe; Thurs at Wright City; Fri vs Ft Towson

6. Tupelo Tigers (B); 8-2

Last week: 4

Tupelo (along with Dover) looks like the top challenger to Ft Cobb-Broxton in Class B through the first 3 weeks of the season.

The Tigers dropped their home game to then SSBR #3 Rattan on Tuesday, but they rebounded with wins over Wright City and Moss later in the week. In the game with Wright City, the Tigers scored 3 in the bottom of the 7th to walk off the Lumberjax.

This week: Mon at Mill Creek; Thurs at Tushka Festival (Byng, Latta)

7. Dover Longhorns (B); 12-1

Last week: 5

The Longhorns did fall from the unbeaten this past week losing to Class A’s AmPo, but they sandwiched that loss with wins over Okarche and Drummond.

Things get real tough for the Longhorns this week as they face 2 SSBR top 4 teams at the Calumet Festival.

This week: Mon-Tues at Calumet Festival (#4 Dale, #3 FCB); Thurs-Sat at Mulhall-Orlando Tournament.

8. Union City Tigers (A), 7-2

Last week: 8

It was a “quiet” week for Union City last week as their lone game was vs Glencoe. The Tigers shut out the Panthers, 4-0

Things pick up for Union City as they have 5 games this week.

This week: Mon at #10 Canute; Tues vs Okarche; Thurs-Sat at Mulhall-Orlando Tournamnet

9. Navajo Indians (A); 8-2

Last week: NR

Reentering the Top Ten this week is Navajo. The Indians make their 2nd appearance in the rankings this season after an impressive 3-0 week beating then SSBR #9 Canute, SSBR #10 Leedey, and Class B contender, Calumet.

In the Canute game, Navajo scored 8 runs in the bottom of the 7th to come back from a 7 run deficit to walk off the Trojans.

This week: Mon vs Fletcher; Thurs-Sat at Hydro-Eakly Labor Day Tournament

10. Canute Trojans (A), 9-2

Last week: 9

As said above, Canute dropped a tough game at Navajo last week. However, the Trojans bounced back with wins vs Leedey and Calumet at the Elk City Festival to end the week.

This week: Mon vs Fletcher; Thurs-Sat at Hydro-Eakly Labor Day Tournament
