The calendar has turned to the a new school year and that means the OSSAA high school Fall baseball season will be here soon. The season officially gets underway on August 10, but teams can play games before then if both teams have already started school.

Up until that the beginning of the season, SSBR will be providing previews of as many teams as we can. Recently, SSBR sent out questionnaires to the high school coaches across the state of Oklahoma asking for their top returning players, top newcomers, overall strengths/weaknesses, and their overall assessment where their respective programs are coming into the 2026 Fall season.

What you have below are the responses to those questions in the words of the coaches themselves.*

Classification: 2A

2025 Fall Results: 26-3 (State semifinalist)

2026 Spring Results: 31-7 (3A State quarterfinalist)

Head Coach: Eddie Jeffcoat

Head coaching experience: 17 years (4 at Silo)


Top Returners

  • SR RHP/OF Aiden McCarty (16-1 pitching record, .067 ERA, 82 2/3 inn in two seasons a year ago)
  • SR RHP/3B Nolan Northcott (4-2 pitching, 5 saves, 2.33 ERA in 42 inn last spring, also hit .378 with 6 HR, 35 RBI)
  • SR RHP/OF Blane Beauchamp (6-1 pitching, 2.25 ERA in 37 1/3 inn last spring, also hit .385, 20 RBI)
  • SR RHP Doc Nuffer (3-0 pitching, 1 save, 2.69 ERA, 35 K in 26 inn last spring)
  • JR LHP/1B Cannon Atwood (8-2 pitching, 1 save, 1.68 ERA in 58 1/3 inn in two seasons a year ago; Also hit .427 with team-high 15 2B, 1 3B, 1 HR, 31 RBI)
  • JR 2B Warner Bradley (team-best .436 batting avg and 43 RBI last spring, 13 2B, 2 3B)
  • JR OF Jacob Wright (Hit .427 and led team in stolen bases)
  • JR C Ty Hatley (Hit .345 with 35 RBI, .983 fielding, threw out nearly 30 percent of base stealers)

Top Newcomers

  • FR Paxton Scoggin (slick fielding, switch-hitting shortstop that should make an immediate impact; Ranked 7th in the nation in Class of 2030 by Perfect Game)

Team strengths

Experience and depth with 7 full time starters back. Six pitchers return that each notched double digit mound appearances last spring. Have also added several key youngsters from a group that went unbeaten in two junior high seasons last year and will contribute.


Team needs to work on

Improved the team batting average nearly 30 points from last fall to last spring but still need to develop more consistency at the plate.


Outlook

Continue to improve every day through October 10.
