Here at SSBR we try to have fun with what we do. We cover a sport that is supposed to be fun and we want to convey that in our content.

One of the ways SSBR does it is by doing a version of a ranking system. SSBR take all the teams regardless of classification and do our best to rank them on how they are doing relative to their class.

*In the Spring we have the caveat that says we are not ranking them on a “head to head” basis. In the Fall since teams may play each other regardless of class more regularly, “head to head” is more of a factor.

We also do our rankings based on results more than what we think who would necessarily win a game. If a spot comes down to two teams, if they’ve played head to head the result of that game weighs heavily in that decision. (The first week’s rankings, however, do have what a team’s expectations for the season factored in, but as the season goes along it will be the results that matter.)

In the Spring we do a “Sweet Sixteen. In the Fall we do an “Top Ten,” because there aren’t as many teams as the Spring. (We are expanding from 8 to 10 this Fall season.)

Let’s take a look at the final SSBR Fall Top Ten for the 2026 season.

As always, this is for fun so please treat it as such.

1. Silo Rebels (2A), 34-2; Class 2A State Champion

Last week: 1

Silo was the class of the Fall season in 2026 and they showed it in the state tournament. In their 3 games of the tournament, Silo scored double digit runs in all 3 games outscoring their opponents 40-5.

For the season, the Rebels were 12-1 against the teams in the final SSBR Final Top Ten beating Class 2A runner up, Dale twice, Class A champ, Rattan three times, and Class B champ, Tupelo twice.

With Paxton Scoggin in the lineup, it sets the rest of the lineup where there isn’t a hole and their pitching staff is so deep they didn’t have to use one of their best pitchers at all during the state tournament.

Silo should be one of, if not the, favorite in Class 3A in the Spring.

2. Rattan Rams (A), 28-4; Class A State Champion

Last week: 4

Rattan showed why they were the top team in Class A as they held their opponents to a combined 1 run as they outscored their opponents a combined 19-1.

For the season, the Rams were dominant against teams not in 2A going undefeated. Their 4 losses all came to the 2A state finalists with 3 to Silo and the other to Dale.

The Rams not only were 6-0 against Class A state teams, they beat Class B state champ, Tupelo, and Class B state semifinalist Calumet.

3. Tupelo Tigers (B), 24-6; Class B State Champion

Last week: 6

For the first time since 2023, Class B saw a team not named Ft Cobb-Broxton or Calumet win the state championship as Tupelo beat both Calumet (semifinals) and Ft Cobb-Broxton (finals) on the way to the title.

The road to the championship was bumpy as Tupelo had to comeback from late deficits against Drummond and Calumet just to get into the championship.

Tupelo got hot late in the season winning 12 of their last 13 games and finished with a 6-5 record vs teams in the final SSBR Fall Top Ten.

4. Ft Cobb-Broxton (B), 31-5; Class B State Runner Up

Last week: 2

Ft Cobb-Broxton looked like the top team all season in Class B until the championship game vs Tupelo. But baseball happens and the Mustangs dropped their first game vs a Class B team all season in the final game.

For the season, the Mustangs were 10-3 against teams in the final SSBR Fall Top Ten beating Dale twice, Navajo twice, and Calumet twice in those wins.

5. Dale Pirates (2A), 27-4; Class 2A State Runner Up

Last week: 3

To see how good the season was for Dale, look at their 4 losses – 2 to Silo and 2 to Ft Cobb-Broxton. The Pirates were perfect in their 27 other games.

Dale did get a win vs Ft Cobb-Broxton late in the season and won 7 games against teams in the final SSBR Fall Top Ten.

6. Navajo Indians (A), 28-8; Class A State Runner Up

Last week: 5

If there was a poster team for comeback this season it would be Navajo. The Indians proved that two more times in the state tournament coming back to beat Verden and Wright City in the quarters and semis respectively.

For the season, Navajo beat 5 final SSBR Fall Top Ten teams, went 17-3 against Class A teams and 7-1 against Class A teams in the state tournament.

7. Canute Trojans (A), 27-7; Class A State Semifinalist

Last week: 8

Canute dropped their first game in the Regional and had to win back to back games to qualify for the state tournament.

The Trojans also had what is what called a “bad beat” in the poker world in the state semifinals as they lost to eventual state champ, Rattan 3-0, while allowing only 2 hits and no earned runs.

For the season, Canute was 18-5 against Class A teams including 5 wins vs state tournament teams.

8. Calumet Chieftains (B), 21-11; Class B State Semifinalist

Last week: 9

Playing one of the toughest schedules of any team in the state, it took Calumet to the month of September. When they did, they were one of the best teams in the state.

The Chieftains were 13-5 against Class B teams with all 5 losses coming against Class B state tournament teams. For their part, Calumet did have 6 wins against Class B state tournament teams.

9. Wright City Lumberjax (A), 26-9; Class A State Semifinalist

Last week: 10

Wright City got off to a slow start losing their first to games of the season to Silo, but went 26-7 the rest of the way. The Lumberjax won both of their Regional games on walk offs and won their state tournament opener vs Ripley, 1-0.

For the season, the Jax went 15-3 against Class A teams and had 7 wins vs Class A state teams.

10. Dover Longhorns (B), 26-7; Class B State Semifinalist

Last week: NR

Dover gets back in the rankings after going 2-0 in the Regionals (on the road at Leedey) and winning their opener in the state tournament over a tough Moss squad.

For the season, the Longhorns were 12-4 against Class B teams with 3 of those 4 losses to FCB and Calumet. They had 5 wins against Class B state tournament teams.
