SSBR Fall Top Ten – Week 6 – Sooner State Baseball Report

Here at SSBR we try to have fun with what we do. We cover a sport that is supposed to be fun and we want to convey that in our content.

One of the ways SSBR does it is by doing a version of a ranking system. SSBR take all the teams regardless of classification and do our best to rank them on how they are doing relative to their class.

*In the Spring we have the caveat that says we are not ranking them on a “head to head” basis. In the Fall since teams may play each other regardless of class more regularly, “head to head” is more of a factor.

We also do our rankings based on results more than what we think who would necessarily win a game. If a spot comes down to two teams, if they’ve played head to head the result of that game weighs heavily in that decision. (The first week’s rankings, however, do have what a team’s expectations for the season factored in, but as the season goes along it will be the results that matter.)

In the Spring we do a “Sweet Sixteen. In the Fall we do an “Top Ten,” because there aren’t as many teams as the Spring. (We are expanding from 8 to 10 this Fall season.)

Let’s take a look at the 6th SSBR Fall Top Ten for the 2026 season.

1. Silo Rebels (2A), 27-0

Last week: 1

Used the same intro paragraph the last few weeks and we’ll use it again this week…

The Silo Rebels are a wagon. They keep rolling on winning in multiple ways. They blow other teams out, win games without any scares, and win games with their pitching depth.

This past week the Rebels went 4-0. After a road win at Asher on Tuesday, the Rebels won the Rattan Fall Classic beating Wister, Tupelo, and Rattan on their way to the title.

Rumor has it that it was said after the championship game by a Rattan fan, “They should be ranked 1, 2, and 3 in the power rankings,”

They are still the last undefeated team in the state this Fall.

This week: Mon: vs Coleman; Sat: vs #2 Ft Cobb-Broxton location TBD

2. Ft Cobb-Broxton Mustangs (B), 23-2

Last week: 2

Ft Cobb-Broxton did lose a game this week, but they did go 4-1 over the week. They beat a red hot Calumet team on Monday then traveled to and beat Canute by run rule on Tuesday.

The Rebels lost to 2A’s Colbert by a score of 2-1 in a neutral site game at AmPo.

All of FCB’s 3 losses this season have come against 2A teams with 2 of them by 1 run.

They get the nod over Dale with 2 wins over Dale.

This week: Mon: at #3 Dale; Sat: vs #1 Silo location TB

3. Dale Pirates (2A), 17-3

Last week: 3

After dropping their game to Silo last week, the Pirates reeled off 3 shutout wins this week. Dale defeated AmPo, 11-0, on Monday; OCA, 4-0, on Thursday; then Lookeba-Sickles, 23-0, on Saturday.

Big week ahead for Dale as they host Ft Cobb-Broxton on Monday before 3 road games against 2A competition.

This week: Mon: vs #2 Ft Cobb-Broxton; Tues: at Vanoss; Thurs: at Preston; Fri: at Byng

4. Rattan Rams (A), 20-4

Last week: 4

Rattan holds down the 4th spot this week after a strong 3-1 week. Rattan shutout their first 2 opponents this week: Crowder, 14-0, and Soper, 11-0, on Monday and Tuesday.

In their tournament, the Rams defeated then #10 Tushka, 6-5, before dropping the championship game to Silo, 6-2.

The Rams’ 4 losses have come to Silo (3x) and Dale.

This week: Mon: at Howe; Tues: vs Battiest/Stuart; Thurs-Fri: Districts vs Ft Towson

5. Navajo Indians (A), 21-6

Last week: 7

For a while now, Rattan has been the class of Class A while we’ve looked for another team to step up and be the #2 team in the class. Navajo has played that part recently with some big wins and an impressive week this past week.

The Indians have 2 wins over Canute in their 3 games vs the Trojans and they went 4-0 this past week including a tournament win in the Warrior (Hammon) Classic. At that tournament, the Indians defeated then SSBR #5 Leedey, 10-1, in the championship game after outscoring their first 2 opponents a combine 21-1.

This week: Mon: vs Hammon; Thurs: Districts vs Binger-Oney

6. Tupelo Tigers (B), 14-6

Last week: NR

After a week outside the Top Ten, Tupelo comes back this week after an impressive 4-1 week. The Tigers started the week defeating rival Roff, 17-6 before playing in the Rattan Fall Classic. In the tournament, the Tigers sandwiched wins against SSBR ranked teams around a loss to #1 Silo. Tupelo beat then #9 Wright City, 6-5, and #10 Tushka, 6-4.

Going into Districts this week, Tupleo looks like the clear #2 team in Class B behind Ft Cobb-Broxton.

This week: Mon: at #9 Latta; Thurs-Fri: Districts (Calvin/Wapanucka)

7. Canute Trojans (A), 22-5

Last week: 8

Canute moves up a spot to #7 this week after going 4-1 last week. The Trojans dropped their game vs #2 Ft Cobb-Broxton on Tuesday, but they beat their other 4 opponents (Cheyenne/Reydon, Verden, Fletcher, Roff) a combined 47-2.

This week: Wed: Districts vs Cheyenne/Reydon

8. Wright City Lumberjax (A), 20-7

Last week: 9

Coaches will always tell you that they want their team to be playing their best at the end of the season. That is the case for Wright City.

Since the turn of the calendar to September, the Lumberjax are 10-3 with their 3 losses to Rattan, Dale, and Tupelo. Along the way, Wright City has wins vs Tushka, Oktaha, and 2 vs Battiest/Stuart.

What is most impressive is the pitching they are showing. In their last 4 wins (sandwiched around a 1 run loss to Tupelo), Wright City has shutout all 4 teams.

This week: Mon: vs Soper; Tues: at Byng; Thurs: Districts vs Haworth

9. Latta Panthers (2A), 15-5

Last week: NR

Making their season debut in the SSBR Fall Top Ten are the Latta Panthers.

Much like Wright City, Latta is playing their best baseball of the season. The Panthers have not lost in September going 8-0. They went 4-0 last week outscoring their opponents 41-7.

This week: Mon: vs #6 Tupelo, Tues: at #1 Silo; Fri: vs Roff

10. Calumet Chieftains (B), 14-10

Last week: NR

Also making their debut in the Top Ten this week is Calumet.

Much like the other teams just ahead of them, the Chieftains are playing their best baseball over the last 2 weeks.

Playing perhaps the toughest schedule (relatively speaking) in the state, Calumet is 7-4 since the start of September with their 4 losses to Dale (2x), Silo, and Ft Cobb-Broxton. They’ve beating Class B contenders Asher (2x), Dover, and Drummond in that time frame while winning the AmPo/Okarche Festival and Ripley Tournament the last 2 weeks.

Brendan Voss is making a case for Class B Player of the Year, while teammates Talon Arnold and Wade Reed have been providing great play as well.

This week: Tues: at Arapaho-Butler; Fri: Districts vs Frontier
