The calendar has turned to the a new school year and that means the OSSAA high school Fall baseball season will be here soon. The season officially gets underway on August 10, but teams can play games before then if both teams have already started school.

Up until that the beginning of the season, SSBR will be providing previews of as many teams as we can. Recently, SSBR sent out questionnaires to the high school coaches across the state of Oklahoma asking for their top returning players, top newcomers, overall strengths/weaknesses, and their overall assessment where their respective programs are coming into the 2026 Fall season.

What you have below are the responses to those questions in the words of the coaches themselves.

Today’s team: Fletcher Wildcats

Classification: A

2025 Fall Results: 14-15

2026 Spring Results: 22-11 (Class A-1)

Head Coach: Eric Garza

Head coaching experience: 3 years (2 at Fletcher)

Top Returners

  • Easton Chinnow JR. 1B/P 2-1 on mound last year.
  • Kasen Dennard JR. SS/P 328 Avg, 430 OBP
  • Haddis Gaddis Soph INF/P, 490 in spring with 20 Dbls 46 Runs, 3-1 on mound 46 K’s 39IP
  • Zach Herriage Soph. C/P 250 Avg 360 OBP
  • Kindyn Camerena Soph. INF/P 250 Avg, 458 OBP

Top Newcomers

  • Maycen Tyler Soph. OF, runs well with a strong arm to patrol Center.
  • Noah Eckart JR. OF with some flashes of pop at the plate.

Team strengths

Infield defense should be well above average with left side, 2B and C all returning. Top of the rotation pitching should compete at a high level.

Team needs to work on

Just continue to work and develop, but I like the effort and intent so far.

Outlook

We got a strong core of returners at key positions, were still young with only 1 Sr, but we have opportunity to with the experience the returners gained as freshmen and sophomores last year to be in a position in regionals to play for a chance to make the State Tournament.
