The calendar has turned to the a new school year and that means the OSSAA high school Fall baseball season will be here soon. The season officially gets underway on August 10, but teams can play games before then if both teams have already started school.
Up until that the beginning of the season, SSBR will be providing previews of as many teams as we can. Recently, SSBR sent out questionnaires to the high school coaches across the state of Oklahoma asking for their top returning players, top newcomers, overall strengths/weaknesses, and their overall assessment where their respective programs are coming into the 2026 Fall season.
What you have below are the responses to those questions in the words of the coaches themselves.
Today’s team: Glencoe Panthers
Classification: A
2025 Fall Results: 9-14
2026 Spring Results: 5-17 (A-2)
Head Coach: Trevor Maxwell
Head coaching experience: 16 years (14 at Glencoe)
Top Returners
- Cam Racy– great player that is primed for a great year. He brings knowledge and expertise that helps us with a younger team. He hit .446 with an OPS of 1.253 with 17 SB. On the mound, Cam should get vital innings will have a chance to compete against the best teams.
- Carson Racy– hit .436 with 73 plate appearance. He lead the team in stolen bases at 19. He a great in fielder that can play any of the 3 infield positions. Also should get inning on the mound in critical spots this year.
- Logan Minor: for someone that had not played baseball since T-ball, Logan became an important part of our team last spring. He is a natural center fielder that gets exceptional reads off the bat.
Top Newcomers
- Race Higdon: transfer student from Dale that bring great experience and ability. He will help us right away on both the infield and on the mound. Adding his bat to the line up will help spark the offense.
- Jaxon Maxwell: freshman catcher that will help solidify our defence. He is a great understanding of the game and is a leader on the field.
Team strengths
I believe our team’s strength is our ability to continuously work and improve. We have a bunch of guys that enjoy working together and want to put together a great fall season. And we have some talent that when we put it together, we should be able to get some good wins. I believe we have some quality pigeon that can go when it’s some games and some depth that can last very long season
Team needs to work on
We need to improve our offense approach to the ball game period we cut down on the number of strikeouts. We also will need to put together a good defensive lineup that helps limit runs.
Outlook
Excited for this season, as we have added some new faces that should contribute right away. We look forward to put together a competitive team that goes out and competes and wins this year. We have a combination of experienced upperclassmen and talented younger classmen. That should be exciting for this year in years to come.
