The calendar has turned to the a new school year and that means the OSSAA high school Fall baseball season will be here soon. The season officially gets underway on August 10, but teams can play games before then if both teams have already started school.

Up until that the beginning of the season, SSBR will be providing previews of as many teams as we can. Recently, SSBR sent out questionnaires to the high school coaches across the state of Oklahoma asking for their top returning players, top newcomers, overall strengths/weaknesses, and their overall assessment where their respective programs are coming into the 2026 Fall season.

What you have below are the responses to those questions in the words of the coaches themselves.

Today’s team: Dover Longhorns

Classification: B

2025 Fall Results: 22-9 (State quarterfinalist)

2026 Spring Results: 24-6 (State quarterfinalist)

Head Coach: Pete Voth

Head coaching experience: 17 years (2 at Dover)

Top Returners

Casen Buck– .308 BA, 41 R, 20 sb, 2.43 ERA, 45 innings. Case has pop and speed are top of the lineup. Very smooth at SS. Pitcher who handles big games for us.
Trypp Lack – .495 BA, 1.442 OPS, 7 HR, 48 RBIs. Trypp has some power in the middle of our lineup and has been really good on the mound our last few seasons.
Ivan Ruiz– powerful bat hit .343 in the spring
Brok Cooper– senior who hits from both sides of the plate and is solid in the middle of our infield

Top Newcomers

We’ve had several move in and move up from JH. We’re excited to see how some of the new guys can contribute.

Team strengths

Pitching will still be very solid despite losing two good arms off of last years team. We also swing it well 1-9

Team needs to work on

We can always improve our defense and execution at the plate.

Outlook

Hope to be back in the hunt for a state championship.
