The State Tournaments for the small schools start on Thursday including for Class A-2.

The field is a mixed bag of teams that are familiar and unfamiliar to making a State Tournament. Rattan and Cameron have both won 8 state titles, with the Rams having more recent success and the Yellowjackets’ success coming primarily in the late 80’s and the decade of the 90’s. Canute has won 1 Spring title, but it was last year. Navajo won a state championship in the 60’s but hasn’t been back until this season. Pioneer-Pleasant Vale is making their 9th trip to the state tournament while Drummond is making their 4th, Union City their 2nd, and Waukomis their first ever trip to a state tournament.

The quarterfinals and semifinals will be played at Edmond Santa Fe on Thursday and Friday with the championship game moving to Shawnee High School on Saturday.

The top seed, Rattan plays Waukomis to start Thursday, while (4) Union City plays (5) Cameron next. They are followed by (3) Navajo taking on (6) Pioneer-Pleasant Vale, while (2) Canute takes on (7) Drummond in the night cap.
