The postseason for the 2026 college season gets even busier this week. The NJCAA D2 schools in Region 2 join the party as their postseason tournament starts Thursday.

The format has changed a little this year. With the addition of more teams in Arkansas, the Region was divided into 2 divisions: the East which consists of 8 Arkansas schools and the West which consists the 6 Oklahoma schools and UA Rich Mountain (which is just across the border in Mena, AR).

Last year, the top 4 schools from each division qualified for an 8 team, double elimination bracket. This year, the top 6 from each division qualify with the advent of crossover series the first weekend of the tournament. The top 3 teams in each division host a best of 3 series with the champ from one facing the 6th place team from the other, 2nd vs 5th, and 3rd vs 4th. The remaining 6 teams will then play a 6 team, double elimination bracket in Enid next weekend with the top 2 remaining seeds getting a bye in the first round.

For what it’s worth, the Oklahoma schools are a cumulative 15-1 against the Arkansas schools with Murray State 8-0 vs SEARK and SAU Tech and Carl Albert State 7-1 vs SAU Tech and ASU Mountain Home.
