The Summer break is almost over and schools in Oklahoma will begin the 2025-2026 school soon. That also means that it is almost time for the 2025 High School Fall season to start.

The season officially opens on Monday, August 11 (or sooner if both schools are already in session). For the next few weeks, we will be previewing several teams as they look forward to the season.

Recently, SSBR sent out questionnaires to the head coaches of the schools playing baseball this Fall. We asked about their returning players, top players, strengths/weaknesses, and their overall assessment of where their teams are and could be.

Today’s team: Mill Creek Bullfrogs

Classification: B

Fall 2024 Results: 19-8

Spring 2025 Results: 13-9

Head Coach: Nolan Henry

Head coaching experience: 5th year (all at Mill Creek)

Top Returners

  • Hunter Hughes: .375 AVG; 4.765 ERA
  • Mason Carter, 2B: .382 AVG; .932 Fld Pct
  • Trey Patton, 1B/P
  • Rowdy Thomas, OF
  • Grayson Allen, 3B/P

Top Newcomers

  • Zeke Knight (SR), SS/P
  • Brayden Knight (JR), C/P

Outlook

The Bullfrogs return 7 players from their everyday lineup in 24-25. The 2 newcomers will slide into those spot that will give Mill Creek a nice core to start with. Also incoming are some freshmen who have pitching and speed. Put all of that together and the lineup will be deep and the defense should shine.

The younger players will have to figure out velocity change from the step up in competition and make more contact at the plate.

There is a level of excitement around the Mill Creek program that is as high as it has been in the 5 years under head coach, Nolan Henry. Coach Henry feels their program is at the turning point to taking it a step further after 5 straight District championships.
