The Summer break is almost over and schools in Oklahoma will begin the 2025-2026 school soon. That also means that it is almost time for the 2025 High School Fall season to start.

The season officially opens on Monday, August 11 (or sooner if both schools are already in session). For the next few weeks, we will be previewing several teams as they look forward to the season.

Recently, SSBR sent out questionnaires to the head coaches of the schools playing baseball this Fall. We asked about their returning players, top players, strengths/weaknesses, and their overall assessment of where their teams are and could be.

• Trypp Lack: Swings bat well; will see time at SS and 3B; adds depth on mound

Outlook

Their is reason for optimism in Dover as head coach, Pete Voth, was able to get the Longhorns to turn things around in ’24-’25 as they improved their Fall record from 7-17 in ’23 to 13-8 in ’24. In the Spring, Dover improved on their 4-13 record in ’24 to 16-13 in ’25.

The Longhorns will rely on their pitching this Fall as they have 5 guys that “can go get it done” according to Voth. However, they will need to improve at the plate according to Voth.

If the Longhorns can get things going at the plate, they could be another dark horse for the Class B state tournament in October.
