With the high school season ending in May and the college season ending this past week, that means it is time to see some movement in the coaching ranks.
We’ve already had some coaches leave and been replaced while other spots are still open.
SSBR has put together a list of those we’ve seen with who is out and who is in.
Let us know if there are others we’ve missed.
College
Cameron University
- Out: Kyle Williams
- In: Holden Capps
Cameron AD, Lou Izzi, announced on April 28 that Williams would not be retained for the 2026 season. Williams had led the Aggies for 6 seasons.
Capps was announced as the new head coach on May 14. Capps had most recently been at Long Island University (NCAA D1) where he was the pitching coach and recruiting coordinator. He is a Lawton native who pitched 2 years at Redlands CC and 1 at UCO. Capps was also drafted in the 7th round of the MLB Draft and spent 6 years in the minors.
Northeastern State University
- Out: Sunny Golloway
- In: Kyle Williams
Golloway resigned on May 9 after spending 2 seasons in Tahlequah. His teams had a combined record of 36-65. Golloway had previously coached at East Central, Moore High School, Auburn University, University of Oklahoma, and Oral Roberts.
It was announced on Friday, June 6, that Kyle Williams will take over the RiverHawks’ program.
Southern Nazarene University
- Out: Grant Ledbetter
- In: Chris Moddelmog
Ledbetter resigned to take a position at Bishop McGuinness High School.
Moddelmog has over 21 seasons as a college coach amassing 368 wins. He has a 3 year stint as Ouachita Baptist where they achieved a #2 national ranking. He comes from Rend Lake College a junior college in Illinois where he spent the last 3 seasons.
NOC Tonkawa
- Out: Michael Keeran
- In: Jonathan Monk
It was announced on Friday, June 6, that Michael Keeran was hired as the new head coach at NCAA D2’s Missouri Western. In his 2 years at Tonkawa, the Mavs won a combined 92 games, achieved several weeks in the national rankings, and sent over 20 players to 4 year schools.
Monk has been on the Mavs’ staff the last 2 seasons after 2 seasons as a student assistant at Sam Houston State University.
Eastern Oklahoma State College
- Out: Dru Sebastian
- In: Josh Merrill
It was announced on Monday, 6/23, that Sebastian will be the new head coach at Indian Hill CC in Iowa.
Merrill comes from North Iowa Area CC where he was the head coach for the last 3 seasons. His teams won 66 games and made the Region 11 Tournament twice.
Randall University
- Out: Jared Bennett
- In: Joe Adair
Bennett spent the last 4 years at Randall with the last 3 as head coach.
Adair comes from the University of Ft Lauderdale where he was the Associate Head Coach.
High School
Stillwater High School
- Out: Marty Lees
- In: Bryce Scalf
Lees leaves Stillwater after 2 seasons at the helm. In that time, the Pioneers won 2 Regional Championships in sweeps making 2 State Tournaments. Stillwater were District Champs in 2025 as well.
Lees spent 4 seasons as the head coach at Washington State and several years as an assistant at Oregon State and Oklahoma State.
According to his Instagram profile, Lees is now an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Wichita State.
Scalf comes from Cushing High School.
Norman High School
- Out: Cody Merrell
- In: Travis Remillard
Merrell left the Tigers program to be the new head coach at Dale. He had been at the NHS helm since the 2019-2020 school year.
Jenks High School
- Out: Justin Timmerman
- In: Brian Walker
Walker replaces Timmerman who had been at Jenks since the ’19-’20 school year and was at the helm when Jenks won the State Championship in 2021.
Dale High School
- Out: Jimmy Harris
- In: Cody Merrell
Harris leaves Dale after 2 seasons leading the Pirates. He led the Pirates to a total of 4 State Tournaments in Fall and Spring including a runner up finish in Fall 2024.
Harris had previously coached at Stillwater High School.
As stated above, Merrell comes to Dale from Norman High School.
Bishop McGuinness High School
- Out: Jared White
- In: Grant Ledbetter
As stated above, Ledbetter comes from Southern Nazarene University where he was head coach.
Cushing High School
- Out: Bryce Scalf
- In: Kyler Patterson
As stated above, Scalf left to take over the Stillwater program.
Heritage Hall
- Out: Xavier Freeman
- In: Mickey Tettleman
Jones High School
- Out: Luke Yost
- In: Jared Price
After 13 years leading Jones, Yost retired from coaching baseball citing more time with his growing family as a major decision. Yost is the new Athletic Director at Blanchard High School.
Price comes Jones after a stint as the pitching coach at Southmoore. He played his college ball at Oklahoma Christian and spent a few years in Independent Leagues as a professional.
Tahlequah High School
- Out: Cody Pair
- In: N/A
Pair took the head baseball job and head fast pitch softball job at Beggs High School
Beggs High School
- Out: Rod Grimmett
- In: Cody Pair
Calera High School
- Out: Rickey Teafatiller
- In: Cody Luman
Tishomingo
- Out: Kyle Lafevers
- In: Rickey Teafatiller
Perry High School
- Out: Bret Bouher
- In: Bryan Hayes
Hayes is the Maroons’ head softball coach and will continue in that role.
Durant High School
- Out: JW Parsons
- In: Jimmie Wyrick
Wyrick has been the softball head coach for the Lions and will continue in that role.
Tupelo High School
- Out: Clay Weller
- In: Dustin Romines
Long time coach, Clay Weller, stepped down on his own terms and will still be the Athletic Director and JH baseball coach for the Tigers.
Romines was the softball coach at Tupelo and will now be the basketball coach as well.
McLoud High School
- Out: Marcus Cordle
- In: N/A
McLoud went 24-35 in Cordle’s 2 seasons.
Sulphur High School
- Out: Mike Matlock
- In: Denton Miller
Hennessey High School
- Out: Matthew Fuska
- In: Tanner Black
Kiowa High School
- Out: Justin Wood
- In: Wyatt Baker
Baker was the head coach at Wewoka
Kremlin-Hillsdale High School
- Out: Garan Qualls
- In: Tony Hellar
Wewoka High School
- Out: Wyatt Baker
- In: N/A
Atoka High School

Atwood comes over from Marietta
