The NAIA released the 2024 All America Teams on Wednesday. Four players on squads from the Sooner State were named to the team with one being a 1st team selection and the other three being 3rd team selections. (The NAIA instituted a 3rd team starting this year.)

  • Chad Pike, OCU – 1st team, Relief pitcher
  • Victor Sanchez, OK Wesleyan – 3rd team, #B
  • Isaac Baez, MACU – 3rd team, Starting pitcher
  • Brian Ereu, USAO – 3rd team, Starting pitcher

Chad Pike (OCU Stars), 1st Team – Relief Pitcher

Pike is part of the current wave of 2-way players that are becoming more prevalent across all levels of baseball. As an infielder, Pike had an outstanding year at the plate as he slashed .321/.440/.701 (OPS 1.101) with 15 HR, and 33 RBI.

While those offensive numbers were good, Pike was named to the 1st team as a relief pitcher and more specifically because of his performance as a closer. Pike led the nation in saves at 14. He had an ERA of 1.40 and did not allow a run in his last 11 appearances. In 25.2 IP, Pike struck out 24 against only 4 walks.

Pike was named the SAC Player of the Year.

Victor Sanchez (OK Wesleyan Eagles), 3rd Team – 3B

Sanchez was a beast at the plate for the Eagles this year. He slashed .414/.500/.762 with 20 HR and 78 RBI. His 20 bombs were tied for the 17th most in the country while the 78 RBI were 15th.

What is more impressive for Sanchez was his discipline at the plate. In the 55 games he played, Sanchez struck out only 29 times. However, he walked 37 times.

Sanchez was also named the KCAC Player of the Year.

Isaac Baez (MACU Evangels), 3rd Team – SP

One of the keys to MACU’s surge into the national scene was Isaac Baez.

After an outstanding junior season for the Evangels, Baez put together an even better season in 2024. In 14 appearances (all starts), Baez pitched 78 innings with an ERA of 3.00 (his ERA in conference was only 2.78). Baez had a WHIP of only 1.06 and he had 89 K on the season (9.89 K/9 inn) against only 22 BB. He also had a 10-1 record.

Baez was named the SAC Pitcher of the Year.

Brian Ereu (USAO Drovers), 3rd Team – SP

Ereu jumped on the scene as the Drovers’ ace in 2024. After logging only 7.1 innings in 2023, Ereu started 16 games for USAO in 2024 and pitched 86.1 innings. His 12 wins (only 2 losses) were 2nd nationally and he averaged 9.28 K/9.

The junior to be from Columbus, OH was named to the SAC All First Team.
