Here at SSBR we try to have fun with what we do. We cover a sport that is supposed to be fun and we want to convey that in our content.

One of the ways SSBR does it is by doing a version of a ranking system. SSBR take all the teams regardless of classification and do our best to rank them on how they are doing relative to their class.

*In the Spring we have the caveat that says we are not ranking them on a “head to head” basis. In the Fall since teams may play each other regardless of class more regularly, “head to head” is more of a factor.

We also do our rankings based on results more than what we think who would necessarily win a game. If a spot comes down to two teams, if they’ve played head to head the result of that game weighs heavily in that decision. (The first week’s rankings, however, do have what a team’s expectations for the season factored in, but as the season goes along it will be the results that matter.)

In the Spring we do a “Sweet Sixteen. In the Fall we do an “Top Ten,” because there aren’t as many teams as the Spring. (We are expanding from 8 to 10 this Fall season.)

Let’s take a look at the 6th SSBR Fall Top Ten for the 2026 season.

1. Silo Rebels (2A), 29-2

Last week: 1

The fact that Silo is still at the top spot this week may be controversial. They lost their first 2 games of the season this week – #9 Latta, 8-7, on Tuesday, and #2 Ft Cobb-Broxton, 2-0, on Saturday.

However, Silo has some positives going for them that overcome those 2 losses this week:

• While they did lose to Ft Cobb-Broxton this week, they did beat the Mustangs earlier in the season.
• At 29-2, the Rebels have the best record in the state regardless of classification.
• That record of 29-2 includes 11 wins against current SSBR Top Ten teams: 3 wins vs Rattan, 2 wins vs Tupelo, 2 wins vs Wright City, 2 wins vs Calumet, wins vs Ft Cobb-Broxton, Dale, and Latta.
• They are without their starting shortstop who is playing for the USA Baseball 15U National Team through this week and will be back for the state tournament.

This week: Mon: at #6 Tupelo; Thurs: Regionals vs The Academy

2. Ft Cobb-Broxton Mustangs (B), 27-4

Last week: 2

Ft Cobb-Broxton would have the best argument to overtake Silo at the top spot, but the Mustangs did lose at Dale on Monday of last week, 5-1. They did beat the Pirates the first 2 times they played earlier in the season and while more recent games weigh more, the fact they won the season series with Dale, 2-1, and beat the #1 team on Saturday puts FCB at #2 over Dale.

This week: Mon: vs Drummond, Thurs-Sat: Regionals

3. Dale Pirates (2A), 21-3

Last week: 3

The Pirates have won 7 straight games since losing to Silo a couple of weeks ago. That includes the big win over Ft Cobb-Broxton mentioned above.

This week: Mon: vs Ripley; Thurs-Fri: Regionals vs Santa Fe Sout

4. Rattan Rams (A), 23-4

Last week: 4

Rattan stays at the 4th spot this week after a 3-0 week beating Howe on Monday and Ft Towson twice in Districts.

As the #1 ranked Class A team in the OSSAA Rankings, the Rams will host a Regional this week.

This week: Mon: at #7 Latta; Thurs-Sat: Regionals

5. Navajo Indians (A), 21-6

Last week: 5

Navajo holds down the 5th spot for the 2nd straight week as they have won 7 games in a row. They beat Hammon and Binger-Oney twice in Districts twice last week a combined 36-0.

As the 2nd ranked Class A team in the coaches rankings, the Indians will host a Regional this week.

This week: Mon: at Hammon; Thurs-Sat: Regionals

6. Tupelo Tigers (B), 18-6

Last week: 6

Much like Rattan and Navajo before them, Tupelo holds down the 6 spot for consecutive weeks.

The Tigers started off the week coming from behind to beat then #9 Latta on the road before winning their 3 Districts games by a combined 37-0.

As the 2nd ranked Class B team in the coaches rankings, the Tigers host a Regional this week.

This week: Mon: at #1 Silo; Thurs-Sat: Regionals

7. Latta Panthers (2A), 17-6

Last week: 9

Go 2-1 on the week and move up 2 spots? That’s what Latta has done.

They lost the aforementioned game to Tupelo by 1 run before giving #1 Silo their first loss on the season at Silo, no doubt. In that game, Latta never trailed in the game even being ahead 7-3 at one point.

This week: Mon: vs #4 Rattain; Thurs: Regionals vs Riverside

8. Canute Trojans (A), 24-5

Last week: 7

Canute had a light week last week as they played and won their two District games vs Cheyenne/Reydon, 11-1 and 8-0.

As the 3rd ranked Class A team in the coaches rankings, Canute will host a Regional this week.

This week: Thurs-Sat: Regionals

9. Calumet Chieftains (B), 17-10

Last week: 10

Calumet stayed hot this week winning their 4th, 5th, and 6th games in a row defeating Arapaho-Butler and Frontier twice in their District series. In those 3 games, the Chieftains bats stayed hot scoring 37 runs.

As the 3rd ranked Class B team in the coaches rankings, Calumet will host a Regional this week.

This week: Mon: at AmPo; Thurs-Sat: Regionals

10. Wright City Lumberjax (A), 22-8

Last week: 8

Wright City drops 2 spots this week as they lost their game at 2A’s Byng before winning their Districts games by a combined 22-0.

As the 4th ranked Class A team in the coaches rankings, the Lumbejax will host a Regional.

This week: Mon at Coleman; Thurs-Sat: Regionals
