One of the things we like to do at SSBR is highlight 5 games during the week that we think should have a special “focus” on them. They could be matchups of top teams in the same class, rivalries, or even teams that may not get the coverage other programs do.
One caveat for a game to be selected for a game of the week: it cannot be part of a tournament or a festival.
Without further ado, here are the SSBR Games of the Week for Week 4.

Soper Redbears (15-5) vs Pittsburg Panthers 9-4; Tuesday (4:00 p.m.)
Soper has quietly put together a solid season up to this point as one of only three Class B teams to have won 15 games and one of six across all classes.
For their part, Pittsburg has put together a solid season so far at a 9-4 record including a big win over Coleman in an SSBR Game of the Week last week.
Both teams are 8-1 against Class B teams. Soper was ranked #12 by the coaches last week as Pittsburg was #14. It’s safe to say that they could both be ranked higher this week when the rankings come out.
Riverside Braves (9-4) vs AmPo Panthers (12-6); Tuesday (4:30 p.m.)
Riverside has quietly put together a solid season up to this point as well. As the only 2A squad west of I-35, it is hard for the Braves to schedule 2A teams on a regular basis. Against 9 Class A teams this season, the Braves are 8-1 up to this point and a win vs at Class A top 8 teams would be a nice win as they play for postseason seeding.
AmPo for their part, is one of the top 8 Class A teams as usual. The Panthers have wins over SSBR ranked Dover and Canute, but they’ll be looking to get back in the win column after a walk off loss to Canute in the H-E Labor Day Tournament.
#3 Dale Pirates (11-2) vs Calumet Chieftains (8-8); Tuesday (5:00 p.m.)
Dale is coming into the week tied with the 2nd longest winning streak in the state at 8. Wins in that streak include SSBR ranked Rattan and Dover as well as a win at Calumet. One could make the case they are playing the best baseball over the last 2 weeks along with Silo.
Calumet has played one of the toughest schedules up to this point as their record shows. Seven of their eight losses have come to teams currently in the SSBR Top Ten, but they are still one of the favorites to make the Class B state tournament. A win at Dale would definitely be a signature win so far this season.
Byng Pirates (6-6) vs #1 Silo Rebels (19-0); Tuesday (5:00 p.m.)
There really isn’t much else to be said about Silo that hasn’t already been said. They are riding a 19 game winning streak, the only undefeated team left in Oklahoma, and are the unanimous top pick in the coaches poll (you can’t vote for your own team).
The defending 2A state champs, Byng, have had an up and down season. Playing a tough schedule, the Pirates have a win over Canute, but they have a 3-3 record vs 2A teams. A win over Silo could propel Byng to a late season run.
Moss Pirates (11-6) vs Hammon Warriors (11-5); Friday (5:30 p.m.)
This one definitely caught the eye when looking at the schedule as these two teams are over 3 hours apart from each other.
Put on top of that both teams have 11 wins heading into the week, and they are both looking to get into the top 8 in Class B, that is a recipe for a Game of the Week.
Moss was ranked #9 last week and beat then #7 Coleman in an SSBR Game of the Week. Hammon was ranked #11 and they have been one of the top 5 programs in Class B over the last several seasons.
