The Fall season is upon us and one of the hallmarks of the Fall season is the fact that every Thursday-Saturday you can find several tournaments played throughout the state that provide great matchups of top teams from each class.
One of the staples of the opening weekend is in the southwest part of the state as Verden hosts their annual Verden Fall Classic.
This year’s tournament is an 8 team, double elimination affair with a championship game, 3rd place game, and consolation final on Saturday.
It has a solid field with 3 teams coming off trips to their respective state tournaments just this past Spring.
Here is a breakdown of each team and what they did in the 2025-2026 academic year.
- Arapaho-Butler Indians: Fall: 23-8 (A State quarterfinalist); Spring: 22-4 (A-1 State quarterfinalist)
- Ninnekah Owls: Fall: 11-13; Spring: 12-18
- Riverside Braves: Fall: 8-11; Spring: 20-8
- Hammon Warriors: Fall: 22-8 (B State quarterfinalist); Spring: 15-10
- Verden Tigers: Fall: 10-14; Spring: 17-17
- Lookeba-Sickles Panthers: Fall: 14-18; Spring: 12-13
- Binger-Oney Bobcats: Fall: 16-14; Spring: 12-15 (Class B)
- Union City Tigers: Fall: 22-12; Spring: 24-5 (A-2 State semifinalist)
