The calendar has turned to the a new school year and that means the OSSAA high school Fall baseball season will be here soon. The season officially gets underway on August 10, but teams can play games before then if both teams have already started school.

Up until that the beginning of the season, SSBR will be providing previews of as many teams as we can. Recently, SSBR sent out questionnaires to the high school coaches across the state of Oklahoma asking for their top returning players, top newcomers, overall strengths/weaknesses, and their overall assessment where their respective programs are coming into the 2026 Fall season.

What you have below are the responses to those questions in the words of the coaches themselves.

Today’s team: Arapaho-Butler Indians

Classification: A

2025 Fall Results: 23-8 (State quarterfinalist)

2026 Spring Results: 22-4 (A-1 State quarterfinalist)

Head Coach: Bryan Holt

Head coaching experience: 4 years (all at Arapaho-Butler)

Top Returners

  • Senior – Jiles Southall – SS/P 3 year starter that has a high baseball IQ and we count on in big games
  • Senior – Luke Bailey – 3B/P 3 year starter that has been our go to pitcher and he has been a big bat in the middle of the order to drive in runs
  • Senior – Jack Goldsberry C/OF/P 3 year starter that has great athleticism at every position and keeps pressure on the defense whether he’s hitting or on the bases
  • Senior – Kaden Waldrop SS/C/P 3 year starter that is our swiss army knife in the field and holds us together in every role he plays
  • Sophomore – Grant Serfoss – Utility – he has great athleticism and speed, we look for him to take on bigger roles on the mound this year and at the plate
  • Sophomore – Beckett Southall – Utility – Coming back from injury and we expect him to be a run producer in the middle of the lineup and play a little of everywhere on defense for us
  • Senior – Cutter King OF/1B/C – He has improved each season and earned his way into a big role for us defensively and driving in runs in the middle to bottom of the order
  • Senior – Noah Cote – OF – He is a tough out at the plate and plays his role well by being a team first guy
  • Sophomore – Gehrig Thompson OF/P – A solid outfielder and baserunner, as he continues to grow and get stronger he has become a tough out at the plate

Top Newcomers

  • Senior – Traber Cudd – P/OF – We look for him to continue to get better on the mound and in the outfield, we need him to step up and eat up a lot of innings on the bump this fall
  • Sophomore – Jordan Jones – INF/P – Jordan will play the infield and pitch for us this fall, as he continues to develop he has shown he has the tools to help the team win in multiple ways
  • Sophomore – Bradley Randle – 1B – Bradley is a great asset to the team at 1st base, he can really free up our infielders and pick it at a high level. As he has some pop at the plate we look for him to drive in runs for us in the middle to bottom of the order.
