The OSSAA released the final Fall Rankings today. These rankings will be used to determine the placement for Regionals and eventually the State Tournament.

Classes A & B start Districts this week and the winners of those will move on to Regionals. The top 4 remaining winners of Districts will host Regionals.

Class 2A has all 16 teams compete in Regionals with the top 8 teams hosting the best of 3 series.

Just for reference, here was my final ranking that I posted yesterday.

Class 2A

  • Top 3 of Preston, Dale, Silo were expected. If everything holds to form, it’ll be a rematch of last Fall’s State Championship game of Dale vs Silo in the State semis
  • Calera jumps up to #4
  • Byng falls to #5 after spending the season in the top 4 and as high as #2 at one point
  • #6 Latta vs #11 OCA, #7 Tushka vs #10 AmPo, #8 Colbert vs #9 Oktaha all have potential to be at least 3 game series and upsets seed wise

Class A

  • No surprise at #1 (Okarche) and #2 (Canute)
  • Rattan has been surging and jumps up to #4 in line for a Regional host
  • Defending state champ, Wright City, will have to travel 320 miles all the way to Canute for Regionals if everything holds form

Class B

  • Ft Cobb-Broxton gets the nod at #1 after going back an forth with Calumet
  • I had Dover higher at #3 as they went 11-1 vs Class B compeition
  • Other than Dover dropping to #6, no real surprises with the top 8 although I had Tupelo at #8 based on their 6-1 Class B record
  • Teams like #9 through #14 could all make life hard for the other teams in Regionals and grab the 2nd State qualifier spot in those Regionals
