It is hard to believe that the college baseball season in Oklahoma is just around the corner.

Earlier in December, we sent out a questionnaire to each small college baseball team’s head coach (NCAA D2, NAIA, NJCAA) in the state about their program and outlook for 2024. We’ve had several responses and we are excited to share with you their previews for the upcoming season.

Season Outlook

It is safe to say that Cameron has had a tough go of it lately. Because of the Covid-19 pandemic, Coach Williams and his staff did not have the opportunity to recruit off campus. However, Coach Williams is optimistic heading into the 2024 season as it is the first year since to have multiple high school recruiting classes on campus.

Cameron returns 6 position starters to a lineup that averaged more than 8 runs per game in 2023. They also return 7 pitchers.

With the addition of incoming transfers and freshman, Coach Williams likes the depth and offensive versatility the Aggies will have. He also likes the “top end arms” Cameron will have.

The Lone Star Conference is one of, it not the best conferences in the country. Coach Williams is optimistic this year’s team can turn it around in the win/loss columns and compete for a spot in the conference tournament.
