A total of 22 players with ties to the Sooners State heard their name called this past week in the 2026 MLB Draft.
Now comes the fun part: negotiating with the clubs that drafted them and coming to an agreement on a rookie deal.
What makes the MLB Draft and the negotiating contracts interesting are the slot values issued to each draft pick and the amount of money each club has to use on their draft class. Each pick in the draft is assigned a monetary value that sets the guidelines for that pick. However, just because a player is taken at a pick with a certain slot value doesn’t mean he will sign for that bonus. If a player is drafted higher than what he was projected to, the club that drafted him may not offer that slot value so they can use those “savings” on other players.
Below we will keep track of the 22 players that were drafted and their signings. Be sure to check back as the signings will be coming in the next few weeks.
The official deadline for draftees to sign is Monday, July 27 at 4:00 p.m. (CDT).
