Welp, here we are. The stretch run of the 2026 season for our small college and JUCO teams is here.
We actually have a conference tournament starting this week and other conferences are in their last week of the regular season.
Let’s take a look at what is going on and see where our Oklahoma teams stand.
*The Sooner Athletic Conference Championship starts this Friday. For a preview of our Oklahoma teams in the tournament, click here.
Great American Conference (NCAA D2)
Let’s start with the GAC since it’s regular season ends today and it is full of scenarios.

Before we get started, want to give a huge shoutout to the guys at D2 Baseball. They’ve broken down each scenario for each team and if you want to check it out, you can here.
Remember that the top 8 get in the tournament and they play a best of 3 series the first weekend before the winners of those series play a 4 team, double elimination tournament the next weekend.
A total of 5 teams have already clinched a spot in the field with Southeastern OK State the only Oklahoma team to do so.
That means there are 6 teams batting for the final 3 spots, with seed 4-8 all up for grabs.
Here are the nuts and bolts:
Southeastern OK State Savage Storm
They are in the GAC Tournament. The Savage Storm can do no better than 4th which would mean they host the opening series. Their magic number to do that is 2 over Southern Arkansas and 1 over Henderson State. That means any combination of wins or losses that equals 2 between SE and SAU AND any combination of wins or losses that equals 1 between SE and HSU, the Savage Storm is the 4 seed.
SE plays East Central at home this weekend.
East Central Tigers
The Tigers put themselves in a great position here with a 9 game GAC winning streak before this past weekend. The easiest thing for the Tigers to do is win one game at Southeastern OK State. That would clinch a spot in the tournament.
If ECU gets swept by the Savage Storm they can still get in. If OK Baptist and SWOSU both lose A game AND either Ouachita Baptist loses twice OR Henderson St gets swept, the Tigers are in.
Northwestern OK State Rangers
Easiest way: sweep series at SWOSU.
Next easiest: win 2 games at SWOSU AND Ouachita Baptist loses A game.
Hard way: win 1 game AND Henderson State AND ECU gets swept.
Southwestern OK State Bulldogs
Easiest way for the Bulldogs to get in is sweep NWOSU at home and they don’t have to worry about anything else.
If they don’t do that: win 2 games AND Ouachita Baptist loses A game AND OK Baptist loses A game vs Southern Nazarene.
Oklahoma Baptist Bison
OBU has to have A TON of things go right for them to get in. The first thing is to sweep SNU. If they don’t do that, nothing else matters.
If they get a sweep, these have to happen: Henderson State gets swept OR Henderson State wins 2 or more AND ECU gets swept AND SWOSU sweeps OR NWOSU wins at least 2. (Get all of that?)
NJCAA Region 2 – D2

The first few updates, I said that the top 4 made the tournament. I was told last week that it is actually the top 6 that make the tournament with the top 3 hosting teams from the East Division (thanks NJCAA Region 2 for NOT posting the format). The winners of those best of 3 series will move on to a 6 team, double elimination bracket.
So here we are…
Western OK State Pioneers
The Pioneers are done with their Region 2 schedule. They will finish either 1st or 2nd depending on how Murray State finishes.
Murray State College Aggies
The Aggies are in charge of their own destiny. If they sweep NOC Tonkawa this weekend, they win the West Division and are the top seed from the West. If they win 3, they tie Western, and to be honest, not sure how that will play out since Western and Murray State split their series.
A split or a sweep by Tonkawa means the Aggies are the 2 seed.
NOC Enid, Carl Albert State, and Redlands are all tied at 9-11. Enid plays UA Rich Mountain this weekend while CASC and RCC play each other. If one of these teams wins 1 more than the other 2, that that team is the 3 seed and hosts. If they all are tied, then I have no idea who hosts since that means they all 3 split their series against each other.
NOC Tonkawa is in a good spot to advance but need to be careful. They swept their series with UARM, so the Bucks would have to finish one game clear of the Mavs.
NJCAA Region 2 – D1

All the teams make the postseason tournament. What they are playing for here is seeding.
Seminole State is in the lead, 3 games ahead in the loss column of Connors State. These 2 teams play this weekend.
The Trojans then have Rose State the following weekend to close the regular season.
Connors State’s last series is this weekend vs Seminole, so the Cowboys have to have a sweep to have any chance of capturing the top seed.
Rose State has NEO this weekend so they really need to win at least 2 games to have any chance to move up in the standings.
MidAmerica Intercollegiate Athletic Association – NCAA D2

At the time of this writing, Rogers State is up on UA Fort Smith so we are going to assume they are going to move to 25-5. That will put them 4 games up in the loss column on 2nd place with 6 games to play. The Hillcats play at Pittsburg State this weekend and end at Missouri Western.
RSU’s magic number on Pittsburg State is 4. Any combination of 4 wins by the Hillcats and losses by the Gorillas would knock PSU out. Two wins by Rogers State this weekend would keep Pitt State out of the top spot for good.
The Hillcats’ magic number over Missouri Southern is 3 (really 2 since RSU holds the tiebreaker). Any combination of 3 wins by RSU or losses by MSSU would clinch for Rogers State.
UCO is in a tie for 8th and still in a good spot to make the tournament. If they win at least 2 games over the next 2 weekend, the Bronchos are in the MIAA Championship.
Northeastern State sits in a virtual tie for 10th and the last spot. They play the team they are tied with, Fort Hays State this weekend in Tahlequah.
Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference

Kansas Wesleyan has already clinched the top spot and the automatic bid to the NAIA Opening Round.
For OK Wesleyan, they can mathematically finish anywhere between 2 and 6. The Eagles play at Sterling this weekend.
Here’s who holds the tiebreakers between OKWU and the other teams:
- OKWU vs Ottawa: OKWU
- OKWU vs Friends: OKWU
- OKWU vs McPherson: OKWU
- OKWU vs Tabor: Tabor
Lone Star Conference – NCAA D2

Unfortunately, both Cameron and OK Christian have been eliminated from the postseason.
