The Oklahoma high school baseball season returns to “normal” this week as just about every team gets back into the swing of things after Spring Break last week.

That also means it is the return of the weekly end of the week events that bring together teams to compete in various festivals or tournaments.

This week there are five events literally across the state that SSBR will focus on: Tiger Trojan Festival, Choctaw Tournament, Rattan Spring Classic, Chickasha Festival, and the I-40 Festival.

Let’s take a look at the Chickasha Festival.

This event has teams primarily from the 4A Class, but there are a few exceptions with Duncan and Newcastle (5A), Lindsay (3A), and Ft Cobb-Broxton (B).

It is a 3 day event of 10 teams that will play 3 games each in a festival format.

Newcastle comes into the festival ranked #6 in this week’s SSBR Sweet Sixteen while Elgin comes in at #9. Duncan, Blanchard, and Ft Cobb-Broxton were the state champs in 5A, 4A, and B respectively last Spring while Byng won the 2A state title in the Fall. Ft Cobb-Broxton was the Class B runner up in the Fall as well.
