The calendar has turned to the a new year and that means the OSSAA high school baseball season will be here soon. Classes A1, A2, and B officially get started February 23 while the rest of the classes begin March 2.
Up until that the beginning of the season, SSBR will be providing previews of as many teams as we can. Recently, SSBR sent out questionnaires to the high school coaches across the state of Oklahoma asking for their top returning players, top newcomers, overall strengths/weaknesses, and their overall assessment where their respective programs are coming into the 2026 season.
What you have below are the responses to those questions in the words of the coaches themselves.
Today’s team: Lincoln Christian Bulldogs
Classification: 3A
2025 Spring Results: 22-14
Head Coach: Greg Harmon
Head coaching experience: 9 years (3 at LC)
Top Returners
- Senior – Chandler Cozbey is an NSU signee and will be one of a few “Aces” for us this year. Touting a 2.9 ERA and a .280 avg against, he will be a staple for us. Offensively, table setter at the top of the order for us. A .260 average and .415 OBP with 3 triples and 10 stolen bases from last Spring will really help us. Those are good numbers for an athlete that gets to us late from basketball. He is a stabilizer in the locker room and a key part of our season in 2026.
- Senior – Carter Ricke is an Emporia State signee (football) and is also an “Ace” for us this year. He was our innings pitched leader last year with 60 IP. He had 60 strikeouts, a 1.28 ERA and a .212 avg against. He is a gamer and always wants the ball in big games.
- Senior – Lane Hunter is undecided on his future, but has options at the collegiate level as well as looking into welding school. He has really grown in his time at LCS. As a sophomore, he was a courtesy runner, last year he was an every day player, and this year he looks to continue roaming the outfield as well as strong offensive production. He led our team in homeruns (4) and can play every outfield position well.
Top Newcomers
- Senior – Silas Goff is undecided on his college future. He comes to us from NOAH. He plays first base and outfield and brings a strong bat into the mix for us. He has fit in great at LCS and we love that he chose us to finish out his HS career.
- Sophomore – Nate Cottman comes to us from NOAH. He is a well rounded baseball player. He can play any of the positions on the field and has a great attitude. A lefty bat and a good glove make him a valuable addition to the program.
- Junior – Carter Hunter is not a newcomer necessarily. He has had big pitching roles the previous two years. An impressive 2.5 ERA and a .240 avg against, make him another tough arm we have in our stable. This year, he is competing to be an every day player as well. He is highly motivated and a very hard worker. We look for big things from him this year.
- Freshman – Major Brooks has been at LCS for a few years now. A true multisport athlete, he brings a lot to the table for our school. He is a highly competitive football player and will make strong pushes for playing time due to gap to gap hitting. He is a first baseman and outfielder that will make us better in many ways this spring.
Overall Team Strengths
We have a strong and deep bullpen. We have highly competitive arms we will be able to through throughout the week.
Overall Team Needs to Work On
If we can score runs, we will be a tough team to beat.
Outlook
We have been to super regionals both years I have been at LCS. Obviously the season has to play itself out, but as a program we are looking to not only get to the State Tournament, but make a deep impact in it.
