The calendar has turned to the a new year and that means the OSSAA high school baseball season will be here soon. Classes A1, A2, and B officially get started February 23 while the rest of the classes begin March 2.

Up until that the beginning of the season, SSBR will be providing previews of as many teams as we can. Recently, SSBR sent out questionnaires to the high school coaches across the state of Oklahoma asking for their top returning players, top newcomers, overall strengths/weaknesses, and their overall assessment where their respective programs are coming into the 2026 season.

What you have below are the responses to those questions in the words of the coaches themselves.

• Cooper Burkhart-JR 329 AVE, 430 ONB, 827 OPS, Pitching 6-3 with 3.22 ERA and 37 K’s
• Josh Gage-SR 221 AVE, 391 ONB, 626 OPS, Pitching 3-3 with 3.63 ERA and 33 K’s
• We have two guys that missed last year but are returning after having really good sophomore years
• Hunter Roberts-SR 347 AVE, 429 ONB, 918 OPS
• Dylan Tunnell-SR 323 AVE, 417 ONB, 772 OPS

• Luke Gray -JR Very strong kid with a lot of speed that will be able to help us as a baserunner and a outfielder.

Overall Team Strengths

We have 5-6 Pitchers that I believe can throw strikes and we can depend on to give us quality innings. We also have a ton of team speed. We will utilize our speed to help us generate runs.

Overall Team Needs to Work On

We need to be stronger on defense and cut down on our strikeouts on offense.

Outlook

We should be very competitive in every game we play. If we play good defense behind our pitchers and cut down on our strikeouts then I think we will win a lot of our games. I expect us to be above .500 and win a District Championship.
