The calendar has turned to the a new year and that means the OSSAA high school baseball season will be here soon. Classes A1, A2, and B officially get started February 23 while the rest of the classes begin March 2.

Up until that the beginning of the season, SSBR will be providing previews of as many teams as we can. Recently, SSBR sent out questionnaires to the high school coaches across the state of Oklahoma asking for their top returning players, top newcomers, overall strengths/weaknesses, and their overall assessment where their respective programs are coming into the 2026 season.

What you have below are the responses to those questions in the words of the coaches themselves.

Top Returners

• Trenton Current is one of two seniors that we really need a good year from at the plate and on the mound.
• Cam Racy is a great all around ball players that has a lot of pop in his bat.
• Kent Rosander extremely fast outfielder that is continuing to learn the game after a couple years off.

Top Newcomers

• Carson Racy freshman that can play anywhere on the field and brings a lot of versatility to our team.
• Kyler Duff is a freshman that could someday have top end stuff on the mound.
• Calon Smith is another freshman pitcher that will see a lot of time on the mound.

Overall Team Strengths

These kids love to compete. They really want to be great. We are a very young team that will do great things in the near future.

Overall Team Needs to Work On

We need to get better at the plate. More competitive at bats. We really just need to play more baseball.

Outlook

I’m very excited about this team. I’m the fall, we had five guys pitch a majority of the innings and 4 of them are freshman. We will get a senior back off surgery and could give us more quality starting pitching. If we are able to figure things out offensively we could have a special year.
