The calendar has turned to the a new year and that means the OSSAA high school baseball season will be here soon. Classes A1, A2, and B officially get started February 23 while the rest of the classes begin March 2.
Up until that the beginning of the season, SSBR will be providing previews of as many teams as we can. Recently, SSBR sent out questionnaires to the high school coaches across the state of Oklahoma asking for their top returning players, top newcomers, overall strengths/weaknesses, and their overall assessment where their respective programs are coming into the 2026 season.
What you have below are the responses to those questions in the words of the coaches themselves.
Today’s team: Hennessey Eagles
Classification: 3A
2025 Results: 15-19
Head Coach: Tanner Black
Head coaching experience: 1st year
Top Returners
- Hayden Hubbard– C/P, Sr.- Hard nose player with a quick swing who buts together tough quality at bats.
- Alex Gonzalez– P/C/INF, So.- Good young arm with quickness and can spin the ball with a wipeout slider. Gonzalez has a quick swing at the plate and can use the field well when hitting.
- James Jones– INF/P, So.- Another good young arm on the mound. Jones has the ability to hit for power and has a good idea of what he wants to do when he steps inside the box.
Top Newcomers

Being competitive at the plate and limiting walks.
Outlook
We have a young team with only one senior, but we will look to be competitive and by the end of the season look to grow and be playing our best by the end.
