The quarterfinals are over and it is time to recap the day’s action as we are now down to the semifinals for Friday.
Let’s take a look at the happenings of Thursday. We will use the data from the winning team’s GameChanger page.

(1) Ft Cobb-Broxton 4
(10) Tupelo 1
Tupelo came in to the state tournament as the underdog, but the Tigers were able to get on the board first in the top half of the 1st inning on a single by Briesan Bastible.
That lead did not last long as the Mustangs tied it up in the bottom half of the first on a single by Brody Langham.
Ft Cobb-Broxton then took the lead for good as they scored 3 in the 2nd inning. After Bode Rains scored on a wild pitch, Kholton Baker singled knocking in Doyle Edge. Kaleb Crowell added what would be the last run of the game on a sac fly scoring Baker.
From then on out neither team got on the board as Ft Cobb-Broxton won 4-1.
Individual stats:
- Aidan Bryant (W): 3.2 IP, 2 H; 1-2
- Baker: H, RBI, BB, 2 R
- Langham: H, RBI, BB
- Crowell: RBI, SF
- Kanon Denton: H, BB
- Rains: 2 BB, R
- Edge: R
(4) Leedey 2
(6) Dover 1
If you were at the concession stand during the 1st inning of this game, you missed all the scoring.
After the first 2 batters got on base by a walk and an error, Max Branson delivered the only 2 runs of the game for the Bison on a line drive to left field.
The Longhorns responded with a run of their own in the bottom half of the 1st inning on a base hit by B Cockayne.
That was all the scoring as both pitchers settled down and went the distance for their respective teams.
Trypp Lack went 7 innings giving up only 5 hits walking 4 and striking out 3 for Dover.
Keaten Adams of Leedey was just a little better going 7 allowing only 2 hits with his run unearned giving up only 1 free pass and striking out 6.
Individual stats:
- Adams (W): CG, 7 IP, 2 H, R, 0 ER, BB, 6 K
- Branson: 3-4, 2 RBI, 2 2B
- Tyler Price: H
- Sawyer Switzer: H

(3) Stuart 6
(5) Hammon 2
Stuart never trailed as they used 6 runs in the first 2 innings to cruise into the semifinals on Friday.
Nolan Lindley got the Hornets on the board in the 1st with an infield hit that scored Zackary Luker. Lindley would go on to score on a wild pitch before Colt Carlton knocked in the 3rd run of the inning.
After Hammon scored 2 runs in the top of the 2nd, Stuart answered with 3 of their own in the bottom half. Lindley was the man to get them started again with a 2 run double to left. Bartlett Patterson then knocked Lindley in for the 6th and final run for the Hornets.
That is all the scoring Stuart would need as Nolan Stewart was in control for the Hornets on the mound. Stewart went the full 7 innings allowing 6 hits and 2 runs.

(2) Calumet 11
(8) Mill Creek 0
Making their first ever trip to a state tournament, Mill Creek ran into the State Runner Up the last 3 Falls and found out why Calumet has been in that position.
Calumet jumped on the Bullfrogs early in the 1st and did not look back. The first 3 batters in the lineup for the Chieftains – Kaleb Thiessen, Talon Arnold, and Kingston Arnold, combined for 8 of Calumet’s 10 hits and knocked in 6 runs between them.
The Chieftains only had 1 extra base hit in the game (a double by Talan Arnold), but they did spray 10 hits total and Mill Creek helped them with 4 errors. Calumet scored 3 in the 1st, 4 in the 2nd, 1 in the 3rd, and 3 in the 5th for the run rule.
Kingston Arnold, Konnor Thiessen, and Parker Dominick threw for the Chieftains as it looks like head coach, Cody Thiessen, was staying under the pitch limits for his pitchers in case they are needed Friday or potentially Saturday.
Individual stats:
- Kaleb Thiessen: 3-4, 2 RBI, 3 R
- T Arnold: 2-4, RBI, 3 R
- K Arnold: 3-3, 3 RBI, BB, 3 R
- Wyatt Cox: H, BB, 2 R
- Konnor Thiessen: RBI, BB
- Wade Reed: RBI
- Jackson Burns: RBI
