Earlier we previewed a staple of the OSSAA Fall schedule, the Dale Invitational. Another staple of the first weekend of the OSSAA Fall season is the Fletcher Wood Bat Tournament.

This year’s edition brings together 10 teams from the west side of Oklahoma to play baseball like it was invented – with wooden bats. This is different from almost all other tournaments as high school is normally played with BBCOR (metal) bats.

There are some teams in this year’s field that have aspirations of making it to their respective state tournament while others are looking to turn their program around and start building to getting to the state tournament.

It’s the first weekend, so who knows what can happen.
