The Summer break is almost over and schools in Oklahoma will begin the 2025-2026 school soon. That also means that it is almost time for the 2025 High School Fall season to start.
The season officially opens on Monday, August 11 (or sooner if both schools are already in session). For the next few weeks, we will be previewing several teams as they look forward to the season.
Recently, SSBR sent out questionnaires to the head coaches of the schools playing baseball this Fall. We asked about their returning players, top players, strengths/weaknesses, and their overall assessment of where their teams are and could be.

Classification: B
Fall 2024 Results: 17-8
Spring 2025 Results: 16-8
Head Coach: Christian Walsdorf
Head coaching experience: 8 years (6 at Boswell)
Top Returners
- Daxter Thomas, SS/P: .365 AVG, .480 OBP
- Brinson Barnett, INF: .310 AVG
- Tallin Brown, OF/INF: .300 AVG
Top Newcomers
- Tracer Rutledge: plus arm on the mound; solid catcher; good power with bat
Outlook
Boswell has had some success as a program in the last 13 years. They’ve made a total of 9 state tournaments between the Fall and Spring with all of them since 2013. The most recent trip to the state tournament was Fall of 2022.
The latest excitement for the Scorpions program has been 2023 alum Kamden Edge being drafted by the Kansas City Royalst this past draft after a year at NOC Tonkawa.
It is in that vain that this year’s Boswell squad will compete. The top of the rotation will be a strength for this team according to head coach, Christian Walsdorf.
Walsdorf also says the infield defense and overall depth of the lineup will be strengths too.
While the Scorpions did lose a large senior class from last year, he is “looking to have the new guys step up and continue the success” of the program.
Don’t be surprised to see Boswell be one of the final eight teams at the Class B State Tournament in October.
