The Summer break is almost over and schools in Oklahoma will begin the 2025-2026 school soon. That also means that it is almost time for the 2025 High School Fall season to start.
The season officially opens on Monday, August 11 (or sooner if both schools are already in session). For the next few weeks, we will be previewing several teams as they look forward to the season.
Recently, SSBR sent out questionnaires to the head coaches of the schools playing baseball this Fall. We asked about their returning players, top players, strengths/weaknesses, and their overall assessment of where their teams are and could be.

Outlook
Winning isn’t new for the Falcons program, but New Lima hasn’t been to a state tournament since the 2020-2021 school year. After a combined 43 wins last year, there is reason for optimism going into this year.
Head coach, Kevin Romine, says they have four of their top five arms returning from last year and he also likes the way the Falcons have the ability to manufacture runs through situational hitting and small ball. However, it is the intangibles that Romine likes. He says this team has a “strong sense of grit and backbone, (along with) mental toughness.”
Romine says while he likes the situational hitting the Falcons can do, they do need to be more efficient at the plate. They need to improve on their swing and miss rate and put the ball in play more overall.
Hopes are high in New Lima as they are returning several players who have a ton of games played under their belt. The Falcons could be a dark horse for a trip to the Class B State Tournament.
