The Summer break is almost over and schools in Oklahoma will begin the 2025-2026 school soon. That also means that it is almost time for the 2025 High School Fall season to start.
The season officially opens on Monday, August 11 (or sooner if both schools are already in session). For the next few weeks, we will be previewing several teams as they look forward to the season.
Recently, SSBR sent out questionnaires to the head coaches of the schools playing baseball this Fall. We asked about their returning players, top players, strengths/weaknesses, and their overall assessment of where their teams are and could be.
Today’s team: Ninnekah Owls
Classification: A
Fall 2024 Results: 6-19
Spring 2025 Results: 7-20
Head Coach: Chad Price
Head coaching experience: 2nd season (all at Ninnekah)
Top Returning Players
- Daniel Jones (SR): .460 OBP, 13 SB; 22.1 IP, 27 K; Speedy leadoff, anchors OF playing CF, will slide into #2 role on the mound
- Kaden Kennell (SR): .478/.550/.580, 17 RBI; Veteran at 3B, brings leadership, anchors a 1-2 punch in top half of lineup with Tanner Haney
- Garret Ray (SR): .403/.506/.528, 14 SB; 45.1 IP, 62 K; Ace of the pitching staff, will help bolster a potent top half of lineup
- Tanner Haney (JR): .485/.595/.652, 24 RBI, 16 R; Caught 16 would be base stealers, .941 FLD PCT; Looks to grown in captain’s role; best bat anchoring the top half

Outlook
Head coach, Chad Price, will be coaching his first Fall season in Ninnekah after taking over for the Owls last Spring. Assistant coach, Jayson DeSilver, will be joining Price in the dugout after a stint on (5A) Lawton’s staff.
The top half of the lineup looks to be a strength for the Owls as they return most of the production from last year. Other than that this looks to be a young ball club, but DeSilver expects the team to get stronger as the season goes on with game experience.
What the Owls do have going for them is their blue collar mentality that shows up and works hard everyday. They also take pride in doing the little things the right way according to DeSilver.
If the newcomers can get the experience needed, the Owls have the look to improve their win totals from years past and approach the .500 mark.
