The Summer break is almost over and schools in Oklahoma will begin the 2025-2026 school soon. That also means that it is almost time for the 2025 High School Fall season to start.
The season officially opens on Monday, August 11 (or sooner if both schools are already in session). For the next few weeks, we will be previewing several teams as they look forward to the season.
Recently, SSBR sent out questionnaires to the head coaches of the schools playing baseball this Fall. We asked about their returning players, top players, strengths/weaknesses, and their overall assessment of where their teams are and could be.

Outlook
There is a lot of tradition for the Tupelo baseball program. They’ve been to 25 Fall State Tournaments (8 out of the last 10) and 33 Spring State Tournaments (6 out of the last 7).
Tupelo took a little bit of a dip last Fall finishing with a losing record (12-17) and not qualifying for the Class B State Tournament for the first time in 6 years. They had a turn around in the Spring finishing with a 16-13 record and making the Class B State Tournament.
Things will look different in the dugout this Fall as Dustin Romines takes over the reins of the program from long time coach, Clay Weller. However, there is optimism for the Tigers as Romines likes the core group of pitchers the Tigers return. While Romines says the Tigers are solid defensively, he says they “can and will improve” even more on the defense.
If Tupelo can get the “right offensive mindset” as Romines says, they have a great chance at getting back to the State Tournament, and as Romines also says, “You never know what can happen at that stage.
