The Summer break is almost over and schools in Oklahoma will begin the 2025-2026 school soon. That also means that it is almost time for the 2025 High School Fall season to start.
The season officially opens on Monday, August 11 (or sooner if both schools are already in session). For the next few weeks, we will be previewing several teams as they look forward to the season.
Recently, SSBR sent out questionnaires to the head coaches of the schools playing baseball this Fall. We asked about their returning players, top players, strengths/weaknesses, and their overall assessment of where their teams are and could be.

Outlook
Union City showed much improvement in last Spring finishing only one game away from qualifying for the Class A State Tournament. With that in mind, the Tigers look to that experience with a strong returning core to make the Class A State Tournament this Fall.
Aiden Williams is one of the best arms in the Class and looks to lead a strong pitching staff. Along with the depth on the mound, the Tigers have depth at every position according to head coach, Ludy Griggs.
Union City is in a unique position with 10 transfers joining the program to go along with the core returning. According to Griggs, half of those ten started on Class 6A and 5A squads last year. Having said that, chemistry is something the Tigers will need to get.
If the returners can lean on their experience and mesh with the newcomers, don’t be surprised to see Union City making the State Tournament for the first time since the Spring of 2017.
