The Summer break is almost over and schools in Oklahoma will begin the 2025-2026 school soon. That also means that it is almost time for the 2025 High School Fall season to start.
The season officially opens on Monday, August 11 (or sooner if both schools are already in session). For the next few weeks, we will be previewing several teams as they look forward to the season.
Recently, SSBR sent out questionnaires to the head coaches of the schools playing baseball this Fall. We asked about their returning players, top players, strengths/weaknesses, and their overall assessment of where their teams are and could be.

Spring 2025 Results: 25-6 (Class A-2 State Semifinalist)

Outlook
Rattan has been one of the best programs in the state at any class for several years now. They have 7 straight state tournament appearances in the Fall and 6 straight in the Spring. They won the 2023 Spring State Championship and the Fall 2023 State Championship (both in Class A).
This year the expectations for the Rams are the same: challenge for the State Championship.
While the Rams did lose some key players off of last Fall’s State Runner Up team, head coach, Michael Clay, believes the Rams will, indeed, be a state championship contender.
Rattan returns 3 top of the line pitchers that will “give them a chance against anyone.” That group is led by Xadin Watts who had a sub 1 ERA (0.95) in 52 innings pitched last Spring along with 85 SO (that’s a 14.71 per 9 inning rate).
Shade Cody and Mark Janoe will lead the way for the Rams’ lineup as the Rams graduated a lot of offensive production. Cody had an OPS of 1.031 with 5 bombs and 32 RBI last Spring.
It is safe to say that when it is all said and done in Class A, the Rattan Rams will be in the mix for a state championship this Fall.
