The Summer break is almost over and schools in Oklahoma will begin the 2025-2026 school soon. That also means that it is almost time for the 2025 High School Fall season to start.

The season officially opens on Monday, August 11 (or sooner if both schools are already in session). For the next few weeks, we will be previewing several teams as they look forward to the season.

Recently, SSBR sent out questionnaires to the head coaches of the schools playing baseball this Fall. We asked about their returning players, top players, strengths/weaknesses, and their overall assessment of where their teams are and could be.

Today’s team: Duke Tigers

Classification: B

Fall 2024 Results: 4-11

Spring 2025 Results: 3-9

Head Coach: Ryan Sanchez

Head coaching experience: 1 year

Top Returning Players

  • Grant Milner, SR: .560 AVG, 1.307 OPS
  • Jace Farr, JR: .374 AVG

Top Newcomers

  • Zaiden Banda FR: Power hitter that will play the corners

Outlook

It is safe to say that times have been “lean” for the Duke Tigers baseball program. They haven’t had a winning season since the Spring of 2022 when they went 13-9.

However, there is some optimism heading into this Fall according to head coach, Ryan Sanchez. He feels the team is “very athletic, (has) ability to run the bases, and the have good bat to ball skills.”

In this rebuilding season for the Tigers, if they can improve pitching wise, they could begin to take the steps back to some winning seasons out in the southwest part of the state.
