A total of 25 players with ties to the Sooners State heard their name called this past week in the 2025 MLB Draft.

Now comes the fun part: negotiating with the clubs that drafted them and coming to an agreement on a rookie deal.

What makes the MLB Draft and the negotiating contracts interesting are the slot values issued to each draft pick and the amount of money each club has to use on their draft class. Each pick in the draft is assigned a monetary value that sets the guidelines for that pick. However, just because a player is taken at a pick with a certain slot value doesn’t mean he will sign for that bonus. If a player is drafted higher than what he was projected to, the club that drafted him may not offer that slot value so they can use those “savings” on other players.

Take Eli Willits for example. He was drafted #1 overall by the Washington Nationals. The slot value for the #1 overall pick in 2025 was $11,075,900. Willits was projected by most to go a few picks later, but not dropping out of the top five. The slot value for the #5 pick was $8.1 million. On Saturday, the Nats signed Willits with a signing bonus of $8.2 million. Washington will not use that $2.5 million to sign others in their draft class.

Below we will keep track of the 25 players that were drafted and their signings. Be sure to check back as the signings will be coming in the next few weeks.
