We’ve got only a couple of weeks left of the high school regular season and that means the weekly tournaments/festivals are starting to wind down.

With that in mind, we won’t likely get the grouping of large schools in one place like at Piedmont and Deer Creek this week until the postseason. At total of 12 schools will participate in the Piedmont/Deer Creek Festival with 11 of the teams from 6A and Elgin who is from 5A.

While some of the schools may be considered favorites to be in the 8 team state tournament field, it wouldn’t be a shocker to see any one of these teams make state. As far as Elgin goes, they are one of the favorites to take home the 5A crown.
