When Sooner State Baseball Report started in 2023, one of the things we did was try to evaluate who the best college team in the state is relative to their level of play. We did that by creating the SSBR College Power 10.

We take a look at who each team’s performance and the level of competition they have played. As the season goes on, head to head competition will obviously become more of a factor as well.

For example, are we saying that teams at the junior college level are better than say OSU or OU? No. But relative to their level, those JUCO teams could be having a better season than OSU or OU.

As a reminder, our first two Power 10 champs were ORU in 2023 after they made a run to the CWS and MACU in 2024 after their dominant SAC regular season and tournament championships on the way to their first ever NAIA National Tournament appearance as a #1 regional seed.

This is for fun, so please treat it as such.

Let’s take a look at the rankings for Week 11.

We have a new #1 this week and the 3rd team to hold the top spot this season. OK Wesleyan (NAIA, 38-5) has won 9 games in a row and sit atop the KCAC (tied with Kansas Wesleyan). While other teams have played around .500 ball recently, the Eagles have been on fire including plating 46 runs in a double header on Saturday against McPherson.

OKWU has a big week coming up finishing their season series with Evangel on Tuesday and a 3 game set vs Kansas Wesleyan this weekend.

NOC Tonkawa (NJCAA D2, 39-6) slips to #2 this week after splitting their double header with Carl Albert State. The Mavericks are 1 game behind Murray State in Region 2 for the Oklahoma schools

Murray State (NJCAA D2, 28-14) moves up 2 spots to #3 after another impressive week going 3-1 against UA Rich Mountain. The Aggies hold the top spot in the Region 2 standings.

OU (NCAA D1, 25-10) holds the fourth spot for another week after going 2-2 last week losing to DBU in the midweek game and winning the series vs Vanderbilt, 2-1.

UCO (NCAA D2, 29-11) slips to #5 this week after going 1-3 last week. The Bronchos beat NSU in the midweek game before getting swept on the road to #2 Central Missouri.

NOC Enid (NJCAA D2, 32-11) and MACU (NAIA, 32-12) hold the 6th and 7th spots once again after winning their series this week. The Jets are in 3rd place in Region 2 while MACU is 1 game behind 1st place in the Sooner Athletic Conference with one series left.

Coming in at #8 and #9 this week is Southwestern Christian (NAIA, 29-14) and USAO (NAIA, 26-15) respectively. Both teams won series on the road this past week and SCU gets the edge by winning their series with the Drovers a few weeks back.

Carl Albert State (NJCAA D2, 26-14) reenters the poll this week after splitting their series with then #1 NOC Tonkawa winning the double header on Saturday.
