We are now into week 5 of the OSSAA baseball season and we are also in the thick of tournament/festivals season. There are several events on the docket for this week, but as you may be aware, the weather isn’t looking too favorable to get them played (or at least all of them played).

An event that is going on this weekend (or at least trying), is the South OKC Invitational. It has teams that may not see as much coverage as other squads around the state, but these kids deserve to get some coverage.

This event is hosted by Santa Fe South High School and features teams from around the OKC metro area.

The original format of this tournament was 2 days of pool play into placement games on Saturday. There were originally 12 teams slated to play in the tournament and it was to be played at both SFS and Capitol Hill.

However, with Mother Nature making her presence known this weekend, things have changed and Thursday’s games will all be played at Putnam City High School (thank you for turf fields).

SFS head coach, Jason Pucciarelli, will update us on Friday and Saturday’s games when they are available.
