Thursdays through Saturdays during the OSSAA High School season have become filled with tournaments/classics/festivals all across the state. To be honest, some of these events have so many teams that some of them can get watered down on the quality of teams in the field.

Not so in southeast Oklahoma this weekend. In what may be the best (on paper) event of the Spring, Rattan is hosting their annual Spring Classic and there are state title contenders left and right.

This event is not your traditional bracket, but it is formatted in a way where there will be a champion. It is a 6 team field split into 2 – 3 team pools. The winners of each pool will play for the championship on Saturday, while the 2nd place teams will play for 3rd, and the 3rd place teams play for 5th.

Two of the teams are currently in the SSBR Sweet 16 (Wright City (#13) and Rattan (#14) while Silo was in the Sweet 16 up until last week. Wister is just on the outside looking in and Colbert is currently the top ranked team in Class 2A-2 by the coaches.
