With the limitations on the number of games teams can play in the regular season, it is hard to find an in season tournament that is a traditional bracket. Most events now are “festivals” where teams get together for 2 or 3 days knowing who they will play each game.

However, sometimes a traditional bracketed tournament pops up on the schedule. And even some of those “sometimes” that tournament provides the potential for some exciting matchups along the way.

That’s what we have at Choctaw High School starting today when the Yellowjackets host their annual Choctaw Tournament.

This is an 8 team bracket where all 8 teams will play 3 games over Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

What makes this tournament even more exciting is the potential matchups along the way. In the field there are 3 teams currently in the SSBR Sweet Sixteen (#4 Edmond Memorial, #10 Bixby, #15 Choctaw) and 2 of these 3 teams potentially see each other in the semis and the finals.
