Last week was the last full week of the regular season for Classes A & B. This week is the last full week of the regular season for Class 2A.

While teams in Classes A & B are playing their Districts later in the week, they scheduled what amount to “tune up” games earlier in the week. Because of that, our SSBR Games of the Week are dominated by Class 2A teams this week.

Let’s take a look at what we’ve got this week.

Silo Rebels (SSBR #4) at Oktaha Tigers, Mon. 5:00 p.m.

Silo is coming off a week where they lost a game for the 2nd week in a row. It’s not like they lost to just anybody. Those 2 losses were to Ft Cobb-Broxton and Rattan. Regardless, the Rebels will be looking to gain some momentum into the postseason.

Oktaha, on the other hand, has struggled this year. At 13-12, the Tigers have not lived up to the standard they’ve set for themselves. Their lineup is still capable of putting up a lot of runs and with that they can beat anyone on any given day. They have a couple of times this week to gain some much needed momentum going into the postseason.

Ripley Warriors (SSBR #8) at Dale Pirates (SSBR #5), Tues, 5:00 p.m.

Ripley is one of a few teams in Classes A & B that is playing a team that would not be considered a “tune up.” Making their season debut in the SSBR Elite Eight, the Warriors have been playing some really good ball as of late. A win on the road at Dale would give Ripley even more confidence heading into the postseason.

For their part, Dale has also been playing some great baseball lately. Winners of 7 straight, the Pirates look to continue that hot streak this week before the postseason begins.

Oktaha Tigers at (SSBR #1) Rattan Rams, Fri, 4:00 p.m.

After hosting Silo on Monday, the Tigers will go on the road at Rattan on Friday. A win in either game would be huge for Oktaha.

Rattan is the newly crowned SSBR #1 team this week. Winners of 12 straight, the Rams came back to beat the former #1 Wright City Lumberjax this past weekend in the Rattan Fall Classic.

Tushka Tigers at Wister Wildcats, Sat, 1:00 p.m.

Tushka has been coming on in the month of September. Winners of 8 of their last 10 look to keep that momentum going against a good Wister team before the postseason starts for the Tigers next week.

Wister will have played their Districts by this game and they should still be alive for the rest of the postseason. Beating a top 5 team in 2A would be huge for the Wildcats who as a team has played the top teams well for the most part, but outside of a win vs Okarche, haven’t been able to get over the hump in those games.

Silo Rebels (SSBR #4) at Wright City Lumberjax (SSBR #2), Sat 2:00

Here is a fun fact, this game was supposed to be played a few weeks ago when it would’ve been #1 vs #2, but that shouldn’t take anything away from this game.

There really isn’t much to be said about this game except it is a matchup against the 2 teams with the best records and arguably the best overall resumes this season. They both are arguably the favorites in their respective classes’ state tournaments.
