We’ve got a ten-team lineup stocked full of talent converging on Payne County this weekend for the Ripley High School Invitational.

Over half of the teams in this tournament come into the weekend in the OSSAA top 10 for their respective classes, including a Calumet squad that finds themselves atop the Class B rankings.

Perhaps the bigger storyline though is the hosting Ripley Warriors who are fresh off one the most impressive tournament runs of the season, winning three straight one-run games against state title contenders Byng, Am-Po, and Okarche. One week after taking down the tournament hosts en route to a championship, if the Warriors can replicate that success on their home field there’s no choice but to begin to include the Warriors in state tournament discussions.
