It’s hard to believe that the 2024 Fall Baseball Season is almost upon us, but that is the case as August 12 is the official start of the regular season.
Here at Sooner State Baseball Report it is our goal to provide as much coverage as we can. One way we are trying to do that is preview as many teams as we can before the start of the season.
We’ve sent out a questionnaire to many of the teams that play fall ball in hope that they will give us an honest outlook on their upcoming season. We’ve had a few responses so far.
Today’s team: Tushka Tigers
Team Facts
Class: A
Fall 2023 Record: 19-7
Spring 2024 Record: 29-3 (Class A State Runner Up)
Head Coach: Landon Carper
Head Coaching Experience: 6 years (1st at Tushka)
Returning Starters and Top Players
Tushka will return a total of 7 starters. Among them are top players Tristan Gibson (CF), Walt Kerr (1B/P), and Kason Hull (MINF).
Outlook
After a disappointing finish to the Fall season in 2023 by losing in the regional finals, the Tigers put it together and were one of the best teams relative to their class in the Spring.
With 7 returning starters from last year, Tushka is once again a state title contender. They will have the experience to go along with their athleticism and speed.
The biggest question, if you call it that, will come as Landon Carper will take over as the head coach of the Tushka program. He does have 6 years of head coaching experience, but most importantly he was the assistant to Dax Simon the last 3 years. So Carper knows these players and knows the program. The transition should be a smooth one.
