The week after the OSSAA high school season has ended has seen a slew of head coaching changes. Jeff Kulbeth retired at Washington, Justin Delay stepped down at Bixby, and Scott Watkins was named as head coach at Sand Springs after Matt Brown moved into an administration role.

You can now add Dax Simon of Tushka to that list.

Part of the Simon coaching siblings, Dax came aboard at Tushka in 2014. Since his arrival, the Tigers have been to 13 State Tournament combined in Fall and Spring. They have been to all 9 Spring State Tournaments in his tenure (2020 was cancelled due to COVID-19) with runner up finishes in 2017 and 2024. His team won a Fall State Title in 2016 along with appearances in 2015, 2017, and 2021.

According to the Twitter/X account, OK Coach Move, Landon Carper will take Simon’s place as head coach. Carper was an assistant for Simon and is a former head coach at Valliant.
