Carl Albert vs Sapulpa (11:00 a.m.)

Carl Albert (Last Appearance – 2023)

The defending champions in 5A are back in the tournament again this year and looking to go back-to-back. The Titans were dominant in district play, going a perfect 14-0 to give them a chance to host a regional on their home field. They would breeze through their regional with three straight run-rule victories over John Marshall (x1) and Altus (x2).

Sapulpa (Last Appearance – 2023)

Despite dropping both games of a late-season district series against Tahlequah, the Chieftains still got the opportunity to host a regional at their home field and they took care of business. A perfect 3–0 weekend with a win over Nathan Hale and a pair of victories of Claremore sent Sapulpa to the state tournament for the third straight season.

Elgin vs Collinsville (1:30 p.m.)

Elgin (Last Appearance – 2023)

A late-season skid cost the Owls the district championship, but they were able to hold on to their runner-up position and got to host a regional. Things got dicey on day one for the Owls though after they were run-ruled by Guthrie to send them to the loser’s bracket. That game would end up being the last time the Elgin pitching staff surrendered a run all weekend, beating Santa Fe South 9-0 before beating Guthrie 3-0 on the back of a no-hitter to send it to the “if necessary” game where they got revenge for day one, picking up a run-rule of their own over Guthrie to secure a spot in the state tournament.

Collinsville (Last Appearance – 2023)

The Cardinals finished the year a stellar 30-4, good for the least losses of any team in 5A this season, and they didn’t slow down during regionals. They started the weekend with a pair of day-one run-rule wins over Tulsa Memorial and McAlester, before turning around and beating McAlester again the next day 5-2 to clinch a state tournament bid.

Tahlequah vs Noble (4:00 p.m.)

Tahlequah (Last Appearance – 2016)

After a two-year stint up in 6A, the Tigers have looked like a completely different team upon their return to 5A. They would use an impressive pair of sweeps over fellow state tournament squads Sapulpa and Coweta to secure the district championship and the chance to host a regional. The Tigers hardly broke a sweat clinching a spot in state, sandwiching a 9-2 victory between a pair of 10-0 run-rules.

Noble (Last Appearance – 2023)

The second hosting spot in District One came down to the wire between Noble and Guthrie, getting deep into the list of tiebreakers before the spot was awarded to Noble. Fast forward to now and the Bears were able to take advantage, but not without getting all they could handle from a tough Midwest City squad. After a 4-1 loss to the Bombers on day one, the Bears were able to rattle off three wins in a row, beating Guymon once before taking two straight over Midwest City to clinch their fourth consecutive state tournament bid.

Coweta vs Duncan (6:30 p.m.)

Coweta (Last Appearance – 2021)

Coweta was the only non-host able to make the tournament this year, winning out as the two seed in the Pryor regional. They got a little help from four-seed Del City knocking Pryor out of the tournament in the de-facto 3rd place game, but the Tigers had already proven capable of taking Pryor out on their own with a 5-1 victory the day before.

Duncan (Last Appearance – 2022)

A year after not even making state for a chance to defend their title, the Demons are back and looking to make it two of three. The Demons were able to clinch their district championship over Elgin after splitting their series with the Owls and parlayed their regular season success into a dominant regional showing, picking up three consecutive run-rule wins to punch their ticket to state.
