Owasso

Record: 31-6 (13-1)

As was widely expected before the season began, the Rams look like one of the favorites to take home yet another state championship. The Rams are led by one of the best pitching staffs not just in the state, but in the country. A trio of Arkansas commits, led by senior Jackson Farrell, have been nearly unhittable over the final month of the season, and the offense has, for the most part, held up their end of the deal as well. Since March 30, the Rams have won 17 of their last 18 games and unbelievably haven’t given up more than four runs in a game a single time during that stretch. If any team is going to come out of the Rams regional other than Owasso themselves, it will almost definitely have to be on the backs of a pair of elite pitching performances, because it will be a very tough ask of an offense to beat this staff twice without it.

Broken Arrow

Record: 22-10 (9-5)

One of the teams better equipped to go toe-to-toe in a series of pitchers duals with Owasso are the Broken Arrow Tigers, who, since a rough district opening series against Bixby, have given up more than three runs in a district game just once. The duo of junior Landon Thiel and senior Jordan Myers has been deadly in district play, and has only gotten better as the season has gone on. The bats have gone quiet at times for the Tigers, but if they can get enough production from the offense Broken Arrow will have a shot to take down Owasso on their home field.

Moore

Record: 17-15 (5-9)

The Lions have been a much tougher opponent in district play this season than their poor district record would suggest, especially on Mondays. The main contributor to their pesky play on Mondays has been senior Cooper Howe giving them outstanding performances on the mound all season. Before a tough final outing of the season against Stillwater, Howe hadn’t given up more than three runs in a district start all season. The flip side of that, however, is that at times this year, the offense hasn’t held up their end of the deal, causing the Lions to go only 2-5 in his starts. If the Lions can get the offense rolling a bit, they’ll have a chance to make a run in the regional despite coming in as the third seed.

Capitol Hill

Record: 9-26 (0-14)

Chances are the Redwolves won’t be making much noise in this regional, but there are positives to be taken away from the season such as an undefeated showing in the ACAC Tournament against other OKCPS squads and a winning record against 5A competition.
