Edmond Santa Fe

Record: 23-10 (13-1)

First-year head coach Kris Webb has helped lead the Wolves to an impressive turnaround after a tough 2023 season where Santa Fe ended the year under .500. A perfect game from sophomore Savion Sims clinched the district title for Santa Fe against crosstown rival Edmond North only a week ago in perhaps the most impressive pitching performance we’ve seen in 6A this season. Santa Fe will look to carry the momentum from a strong 12-4 showing in April into the postseason and return to the State Tournament for the first time since they fell in the championship game to Owasso in 2022.

Mustang

Record: 22-12 (8-6)

It took a few weeks for the Broncos to get warmed up this season, stumbling out of the gates to a 1-7 record, but the Broncos are 21-5 since, and come into the postseason as one of the hottest teams in the state. The Broncos’ turnaround has been led in part by a streak of impressive outings each Monday from senior Jackson Pickelsimer, who after a tough first start of the season against Choctaw, gave up one total earned run in district starts the rest of the season. Ultimately, it will be a question of whether the rest of the Broncos’ lineup can give enough run support for them to get by some tougher opponents, something they’ve proven to be much more able to do in the back half of the season.

Putnam City West

Record: 14-15 (4-10)

After looking rough for the majority of the season, the Patriots have gone on a heater to end the year, winning nine straight to end the year including a 3-1 win over a solid Norman North squad. PC West is led on the field by senior Jaxon Hyde-Herrera, who has been a big part of their late-season surge giving them multiple spectacular pitching performances. If both squads put their aces on the mound in game one, we could be in for a battle of two of the hottest arms in the state in the 2 vs 3 matchup between Mustang and PC West.

Lawton

Record: 2-29 (1-13)

There’s really no way around it, it has been a rough go of it in 2024 for the Wolverines who, after taking their district opener against PC North 6-5, won just one game the rest of the year. The Wolverines have had flashes at the plate this season, putting together a couple of solid hitting performances despite not seeing many wins as a result. However, Lawton hasn’t been able to find an answer on the mound this season, giving up at least eight runs in every game of the season other than their two wins.
