Choctaw

Record: 25-3 (13-1)

There’s no doubt that the Yellowjackets have been the most consistent team in 6A, and you could argue the state. Choctaw was an outstanding 21-1 at one point, before dropping their first and only district loss of the year to Westmoore. Senior Easton Teel and junior Gaige Albright have been strong all season as the district starters for Choctaw, but we’d be remiss not to mention the spectacular job senior Drake Fittro has done closing big games for Choctaw all season. Heading into the postseason Yellowjackets are one of the favorites to not only finally break through and make a trip to state after narrowly missing each of the past few seasons, but win the whole thing.

Norman

Record: 24-9 (8-6)

The Tigers have been quietly putting together one of the better overall records in the state, and are playing their best ball of the season at the perfect time, winning 13 of their last 14 heading into regionals. One of the keys to Norman’s success this season has been the consistency on the mound of senior Trace Redwine who has been no stranger to going the distance in big games this year. The Tigers have picked up several big district wins on Tuesday nights behind strong performances from Redwine, and they’ll be looking to him and the rest of the squad to come up big and help lead them to the state tournament.

Southmoore

Record: 14-17 (7-7)

A strong finish to the season, including an 8-0 win over a hosting Edmond Santa Fe squad, has the Sabercats feeling good heading into regionals. Southmoore has proven they can put up a fight and even beat some of the better teams in the state, beating several teams throughout the year who turned out to be one and two seeds in regionals this week such as Westmoore, Edmond Santa Fe as we previously mentioned, and most importantly, the two seed they’ll take on in the first round of their own regional, Norman. The two squads split a pair of games this year, with Soutmoore taking the first game 6-5 and Norman taking the second matchup 11-7.

Northwest Classen

Record: 17-16 (2-12)

Just like the 2023 season, Northwest Classen finds themselves as a fourth seed in a regional despite an overall record over .500. The Knight’s only two district wins came via forfeited games by Yukon, as the Knights were outmatched in district play throughout the year. However, similarly to last season, the Knights shined as one of the best teams in OKCPS, going 15-4 in non-district games, most of which were against fellow OKCPS schools.
