Along with Class 3A, Class 4A had it’s postseason format change this season. Instead of the Districts into Regionals format, it went to a Regionals to Areas format.
Areas will feature 2 teams playing a best of 3 series where the winner will advance to the State Tournament (think of the Super Regionals in the NCAA Tournament).
Coaches ranked each of the 16 teams that advanced to the Area with those rankings being the seeds for the Area round.
When the 8 Area champions are known, they will be seeded in the State Tournament based on these rankings (the highest remaining ranked team will play the lowest remaining ranked team, the 2nd highest plays the 2nd lowest, and so on)
The OSSAA released the rankings on Sunday night and we can deduce the pairings based on the rankings. Seeds 1-8 will serve as the host school.
